Congratulations on the purchase of your new Wireless Router. The Wireless Router is a multi- function device providing the following services: • Shared Broadband Internet Access for all LAN users. • 4-Port Switching Hub for 10BaseT or 100BaseT connections. • Wireless Access Point for 802.11b and 802.11g Wireless Stations. Wireless Router Features The Wireless Router incorporates many advanced features, carefully designed to provide sophisticated functions while being easy to use. Internet Access Features • Shared Internet Access. All users on the LAN or WLAN can access the Internet through the Wireless Router, using only a single external IP Address. The local (invalid) IP Addresses are hidden from external sources. This process is called NAT (Network Ad- dress Translation). • DSL & Cable Modem Support. The Wireless Router has a 10/100BaseT Ethernet port for connecting a DSL or Cable Modem. All popular DSL and Cable Modems are sup- ported. SingTel RAS and Big Pond (Australia) login support is also included. • PPPoE, and PPTP. The Internet (WAN port) connection supports PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet), PPTP (Peer-to-Peer Tunneling Protocol), as well as "Direct Connection" type services. Unnumbered IP with PPPoE is also supported. • Fixed or Dynamic IP Address. On the Internet (WAN port) connection, the Wireless Router supports both Dynamic IP Address (IP Address is allocated on connection) and Fixed IP Addre…

Please note that further comments may arise in response to answers provided to the questions below. 1. Please note that page 51 of the report states the device has a maximum of 14 channels depending on the regulatory authority. Page 16 of the manual further indicates that the device is capable of operation on other than US frequencies (i.e. Australia, Singapore etc). Please note that any device sold in the US must only operate between channels 1-11. Neither the manual nor other documentation clearly indicates that this device, as sold in the US, ONLY OPERATES on channels 1-11 or that user has no access to functions (either by control or downloadable software or firmware) that allows the user to adjust or make the device operate on non-US frequencies. Please note that the statement on page 50 about only 11 channels in the US and Canada does adequately address this condition. Because the manual indicates that the device may be able to operate on non-US frequencies, please provide evidence as to how the device is made so that the user has no access to any control function or feature (including downloadable software or firmware) so as to make the device, as sold in the US, able to operate above channel 11. Introduction The EUT operates in the 2.4GHz ISM band. Due to the EUT (include antenna) at its normal operation distance is at least 20 cm from the human body, the EUT was defined as a Mobile Device. The reason to do the MPE Evaluation is to avoid the RF hazard to human body. The maximum output power and gain of the antenna were used to calculate the limited Power density (S) at 20cm distance away from the product. The limit for Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) specified in FCC 1.1310 is followed. 2.
