GPRS Phone USER’S MANUAL MODEL : BPP-NEO200 Please read this manual carefully before operating your handset. Retain it for future reference Draft Version (10/21/2005) FCC RF EXPOSURE INFORMATION In August 1996 the Federal Communications commission (FCC) of the United States with its action in Report and Order FCC 96-326 adopted an updated safety standard for human exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic energy emitted by FCC regulated transmitters. Those guidelines are consistent with the safety standard previously set by both U.S. and international standards bodies. The design of this phone complies with the FCC guidelines and these international standards. Use only the supplied or an approved antenna. Unauthorized antennas, modifications, or attachments could impair call quality, damage the phone, or result in violation of FCC regulations. Do not use the phone with a damaged antenna. If a damaged antenna comes into contact with the skin, a minor burn may result. Please contact your local dealer for replacement antenna. Body-worn Operation This device was tested for typical body-worn operations using the optional belt-clip/holster placed 0.7 inches (1.8cm) from the body. To comply with FCC RF exposure requirements, a minimum separation distance of 0.7 inches (1.8cm) must be maintained between the user’s body and the phone, including the antenna, whether extended or retracted. The use of third-party belt-clips/ holsters with no metallic components that provide the minimum separation distance of 0.7 inches (1.8cm) can be used to satisfy FCC RF exposure requirements. The use of non-tested accessories or other body-worn operations may not comply with FCC RF exposure requirements and should be avoided. Contact your local dealer for optional accessory items. Vehicle Mounted External Antenna (optional, if available.) A minimum separation distance of 7.9 inches (20cm) must be maintained between a person and the vehicle mounted external antenna to satisfy FCC RF exposure requirements. Inc 9/27 SECTION 2. TECHNICAL BRIEF 2.1 General Description RF part consists of a transmit part, a receive part, a voltage supply part. The RF main chipset SMARTi SD2 is a single-chip multi-band GSM850 and DCS/PCS (GPRS) wireless communication (voice and data applications). This device integrated a receive section based on a zero-IF receiver architecture and a transmit section based on an offset phase-locked loop (OPLL) with a fully integrated transmit VCO. 2.2 Receiver Part A. RF Front End Demodulator RF front end is consists of FEM(U100), Tri band LNAs integrated in transceiver. The Received RF signals (GSM 925MHz ~ 960MHz, DCS 1805MHz ~ 1880MHz, PCS 1930MHz ~1990MHz ) are fed into the antenna or FEM. An antenna matching circuit is between the antenna and the FEM. The FEM control the Rx and Tx paths. …

Description of Test Equipment 3.1 SAR Measurement Setup Robotic System Measurements are performed using the DASY4 automated dosimetric assessment system. Which is made by Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG) in Zurich, Switzerland and consists of high precision robotics system (Stäubli), robot controller, measurement server, H/P computer, nearfield probe, probe alignment sensor, and the SAM twin phantom containing the brain equivalent material. The robot is a six-axis industrial robot performing precise movements to position the probe to the location (points) of maximum electromagnetic field (EMF) (see Fig. 3.1). Figure 3.1 SAR Measurement System Setup System Hardware A cell controller system contains the power supply, robot controller, teach pendant (Joystick), and a remote control is used to drive the robot motors. The PC consists of the H/P computer with Windows XP system and SAR Measurement Software DASY4, LCD monitor, mouse and keyboard. The Stäubli Robot is connected to the cell controller to allow software manipulation of the robot. A Data Acquisition Electronic (DAE) circuit that performs the signal amplification, signal multiplexing, AD-conversion, offset measurements, mechanical surface detection, collision detection, etc. Is connected to the Electro-Optical Coupler (EOC).
