(Y/N) Realisation / Evidence in FORM 731 application filing i RF shielding The radio elements of the modular transmitter must have their own shielding. The physical crystal and tuning capacitors may be located external to the shielded radio elements. Y The radio portion has his own shielding (see external photos). ii Buffered modulation/data inputs The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs (if such inputs are provided) to ensure that the module will comply with part 15 requirements under conditions of excessive data rates or over-modulation. Y The function has been integrated in the chipset (see operational description) iii Power supply regulation The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation. Y The function has been integrated in the chipset (see operational description) iv Antenna requirements The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna and transmission system requirements of §§15.203, 15.204(b) and 15.204(c). The antenna must either be permanently attached or employ a “unique” antenna coupler (at all connections between the module and the antenna, including the cable). Additional justification and details may be requested – please refer to KDB 996369 Y The module comes with one permanently attached antenna. The spurious emission requirements are fulfilled (see attached test report). v Stand-alone test configuration The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration, i.e., the module must not be inside another device during testing for compliance with part 15 requirements. Unless the transmitter module will be battery powered, it must comply with the AC line conducted requirements found in §15.207. AC or DC power lines and data input/output lines connected to the module must not contain ferrites, unless they will be marketed with the module (see §15.27(a)). The length of these lines shall be the length typical of actual use or, if that length is unknown, at least 10 centimeters to insure that there is no coupling between the case of the module and supporting equipment. Any accessories, peripherals, or support equipment connected to the module during testing shall be unmodified and commercially available (see §15.31(i)). Y The module has been tested in a stand-alone configuration (see test report/ test set-up photos) vi Labelling The modular transmitter must be equipped with either a permanently affixed label or must be capable of electronically displaying its FCC identification number. Y The module has its own label The FCC ID is shown in the User Manual. The instruction for labelling rules for the host device has been stated in the user manual vii Compliance on specific rule or operating requirements The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rules or Y The required FCC rules has been fulfilled and all instructions for PANASONIC INDUSTRIAL DEVICES EUROPE GmbH Zeppelinstraße 19, 21337 Lüneburg Provided by Eurofins Produc t Service GmbH v.0.2 Telefon +49 (0) 4131 899-0 Telefax +49 (0) 4131 899-120 E-Mail: [email protected] www.pideu.panasonic.de operating requirements that ordinarily apply to a complete transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements. A copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization. maintaining compliance has been clearly stated in the user manual viii RF Exposure Radio frequency devices operating under the provisions of this part are subject to the radio frequency radiation exposure requirements specified in §§1.1307(b), 1.1310, 2.1091, and 2.1093 of this chapter, as appropriate. Applications for equipment authorization of modular transmitters under this section must contain a statement confirming compliance with these requirements. The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure requirements in its final configuration. Y RF exposure requirements are fulfilled for mobile configuration. The installation of the module is restricted to mobile host devices what is clearly stated in the installation instruction of the user manual. For portable applications OEM integrators need SAR evaluation and an own FCC ID. Olaf Knoth Safety Manager Panasonic Industrial Devices Europe GmbH Zeppelinstraße 19 21337 Lueneburg Germany

REASONING PANASONIC BT MODUL PAN301x WITHOUT FCC ID ON PRODUCT CAUSED BY SIZE RESTRICTIONS In KDB784748D01V09r01 chapter 3 the FCC states the following: (3) CERTIFICATION For certification, the product shall bear a nameplate or label with the FCC Identifier (FCC ID), as defined in Section 2.925.13 The FCC ID must always be accessible when using the product. The placement of the FCC ID must be a physical label on the product, unless an e-label is used. Physical FCC ID labels must be located on the surface of the product, or within a user-accessible non-detachable compartment (such as the battery compartment). The label shall be permanently affixed, permitting the device to be positively identified. The font needs to be readily legible, consistent with the dimensions of the equipment and its label area. When the device is so small, or for such use that it is impracticable to label with a font size that is four-points or larger (and the device does not utilize electronic labeling), then the FCC ID shall be placed in the user manual, and the FCC ID shall also be placed either on the device packaging or on a removable label attached to the device Definition of point (pt) A computer point (pt) is the smallest unit of measure in typography. It is a subdivision of the larger pica. The contemporary desktop publishing point (also called the PostScript point) was defined as 72 points to the inch (1 point = 1⁄72 inches = 25.4⁄72 mm = 0.3527 mm). Conversion 4pt to mm 4pt = 0.3527 x 4mm = 1,4108mm The below dimensioned and magnified graphic shows the product with the actual label and a visualized FCC ID printed in 4pt font size. It demonstrates that the FCC ID doesn’t fit on the label if printed in 4pt. The brand name, product number, lot code and 2D data matrix code are laser printed in a font smaller than 2pt and are intended to be read by machines (scanner) or in a factory using a microscope. This product is intended to be sold to OEM’s only. The OEM is obliged to print on the label of the end product containing this BT module the following This product contains transmitter FCC ID: T7V301X Module Laser Marking Description No. Item ENW89855A1KF 1 Series (Brand) PAN301x 2 ENW-No. / Model Name ENW89855AxKF 3 Lotcode (YYWWDLL) YY - Year WW - Calendar Week D - Day of Week (e.g. Friday is 5) L - Line L - Lot 4 HW/SW Version HW Major Hardware Version: please refer to MS-CS-PAN301x document SW Major Software Version: please refer to AI document 5 MAC address MAC address for BLE, 12 digits, hexadecimal count 6 ES Marking Need to be mentioned during ES status (remove ES for MP) Necessity of ES marking will also be stated in the ECN 7 BT marking Bluetooth logo 8 2D Data Matrix Code Contains in total 30 characters, seperated by a semicolon.
