American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 August 19, 2007 RE: ATCB005300 FCC ID: TE7WR340G I have a few comments on this application. Depending on your responses, kindly understand there may be additional comments. 1. User manual It is required to place the information to user to your user manual under FCC part 15.21 Below please see the statement copied from FCC part 15.21 for your reference: “The users manual or instruction manual for an intentional or unintentional radiator shall caution the user that changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.” 2. Test report The reading level on RF radiated measurement at page 99 of the test report is -1.666 dBuV. It should not be such low level. Please clarify it. 3. Test report It is not clear to see if the emission level of marker2 has 20dB below that of marker 1 from page 94 ~97 on conducted band edge emission measurement.. Please provide spectrum plots that show better band edge point. 4. Short of MPE report It is required to provide a MPE (Maximum Permissible Exposure) report for the wireless 802.11b/g device operating distance from body is greater than 20cm. 5. Form 731 Your external photos provided for this application is a “54M wireless router” device. Please check if “54M wireless cardbus adapter” filled at 4(a) on “TE7WR340G_731 form” is correct? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ George Chen ~ mailto:[email protected] ~ Taiwan Mobile: +886 930600123 ~ SKYPE: georgeshirley ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. z Page 2 August 19, 2007 Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.

Date of Receipt : 2007/07/03 Issued Date : 2007/07/27 Report No. : 077S010-RF-US The test results relate only to the samples tested. The test results shown in the test report are traceable to the national/international standard through the calibration of the equipment and evaluated measurement uncertainty herein. This report must not be used to claim product endorsement by CNLA, NVLAP, NIST or any agency of the Government. The test report shall not be reproduced except in full without the written approval of QuieTek Corporation. Report No: 077S010-RF-US Page: 2 of 3 1. RF Exposure Evaluation 1.1. Limits According to FCC 1.1310: The criteria listed in the following table shall be used to evaluate the environment impact of human exposure to radio frequency (RF) radiation as specified in 1.1307(b) LIMITS FOR MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE EXPOSURE (MPE) Frequency Range (MHz) Electric Field Strength (V/m) Magnetic Field Strength (A/m) Power Density (mW/cm2) Average Time (Minutes) (A) Limits for Occupational/ Control Exposures 300-1500 -- -- F/300 6 1500-100,000 -- -- 5 6 (B) Limits for General Population/ Uncontrolled Exposures 300-1500 -- -- F/1500 6 1500-100,000 -- -- 1 30 F= Frequency in MHz Friis Formula Friis transmission formula: Pd = (Pout*G)/(4*pi*r2) Where Pd = power density in mW/cm2 Pout = output power to antenna in mW G = gain of antenna in linear scale Pi = 3.1416 R = distance between observation point and center of the radiator in cm Pd id the limit of MPE, 1 mW/cm2 . If we know the maximum gain of the antenna and the total power input to the antenna, through the calculation, we will know the distance r where the MPE limit is reached.
