Model Differences Dear Examiner, This is to explain the differences between the two models of the SecureMesh WAN Series 2: the gateway GATE-2000 and the extender XTEN-2 000. Except for the labels, both models are identical in hardware. Most of the firmware is also identical including all RF functions. The differences are in the network’s behavior as the GATE-2000 is the root node interface between the wireless SecureMesh WAN Network and the customer wired backhaul. The GATE-2 000 is also the master of the SecureMesh WAN Network defining the network’s parameters. The XTEN-2000 is a relay node to extend the range of the wireless SecureMesh WAN network. It can also, along with other devices not part of this certification, act as the end node of the this network by providing an Ethernet connectivity for WAN client devices in direct support of Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring, video surveillance, or work-force management applications. Sincerely, Daniel Tousignant, ing. Certification & Compliance Eng.
