105X150mm Klein Electronics, Inc. 2026 USER GUIDE 1 GO-KP Quick Start:Perform the following steps to assemble your handheld radio:• Charge the battery.• Install the battery.• Install the antenna.• Install the belt clip.• Turn on the radio.• Select a channel.• Install your audio accessory (if needed).• Adjust the volume.Charging the BatteryThe radio is powered by a Li-lon battery. To protect the batter y from damage and comply with the warranty conditions, you can use only the charg er provided with the battery for charging. To maximize battery performance, it i s recommended to charge the battery for 10 to 12 hours before the first use. Installing the BatteryAlign the battery with the battery slot on the rear side of the radio. Push the battery into the slot until it is fastened. Before removing the battery, turn off the radio first. Press the battery fastener and then remove the bat tery. Installing the AntennaTurn off the radio, place the antenna into the installation hol e, and turn the antenna clockwise. To remove the antenna, turn the antenna anti clockwise. Before removing the antenna, ensure that you have turned off th e radio and removed the universal interface cover. To replace the antenna, use a specified antenna to replace the old one. Otherwise, your radio may be da maged. Installing the Belt ClipAlign the screw holes on the belt clip with those on the rear s ide of the radio and fasten the belt clip with screws.Turning On the radioTurn the volume/power knob clockwise until you hear a click sou nd. The radio gives a short beep sound, indicating that the radio is successf ully turned on. You should also hear the Voice Enunciation through the speaker or earpiece of which channel you are on. Installing an Audio AccessoryRemove the protective cover on the side of the radio and plug i n your earpiece or headset. Adjusting the VolumeTurn the volume knob clockwise to turn up the volume. Modulation Characteristics 9.1 Provisions Applicable According to FCC§2.1047 and §90.207, for Voice Modulation Communication Equipment, the frequency response of the audio modulation circuit over a range of 100 to 5000Hz shall be measured. 9.2 Measurement Procedure  Modulation Limit 1. Test layout and build equipment as shown below. 2. adjust the audio input for 60% of rated system deviation at 1kHz using this level as a reference (0dB). 3. Vary the input level from –20 to +20dB. 4. Record the frequency deviation obtained as a function of the input level. 5. Repeat step 2 with input frequency changing to 300, 1000, 1500 and 3000Hz in sequence.  Audio Frequency Response 1. Test layout and build equipment as shown below. 2. Maximum Transmitter Power 10.1 Provisions Applicable Per FCC §2.1046 and §90.205: Maximum ERP is dependent upon the station’s antenna HAAT and required service area. 10.2 Measurement Procedure The RF output of Two-way Radio was conducted to a spectrum analyzer through an appropriate attenuator. In the semi-anechoic chamber, setup as illustrated above the DUT placed on the 0.8m height of Turn Table, rotated the table 45 degree each interval to search the maximum radiation power and receiver antenna shall be rotated vertical and horizontal polarization and moved height from 1m to 4m to find the maximum polar radiated power for each degree interval. The “Read Value” is the spectrum reading of maximum power value. The substitution antenna is substituted for DUT at the same position and signals generator (S.G) export the CW signal to the substitution antenna via a TX cable. The receiver antenna shall be rotated vertical and horizontal polarization and moved height from 1m to 4m to find the maximum radiation power. Record the power level of maximum radiation power from spectrum. So, the Measured substitution value = Ref level of S.G + TX cables loss – Substituted Antenna Gain. This equipment meets the requirements of the FCC Rules, Parts 90.203(e) and (g), as applicable. Programming of this products transmit frequencies can be performed ONLY by the manufacturer or by service or by maintenance personal. The operator can’t program transmit frequencies using the equipment’s external operation controls. This is to certify that the requirements of 47 CFR Part 90.203(j)(4) and (5) spectrum efficiency are met by the Klein Electronics, Inc. demonstrated by the tests conducted on the sample radio provided. The tests show that the 4FSK data rate is in accordance with ETSI TS 102 361-1, that is 9600 bits per second in a 12.5 kHz bandwidth to satisfy the data rate requirement of 4800 bits per second per 6.25 kHz of channel bandwidth (7K60F1D emissions). Additionally, the radio uses the AMBE+2 half-rate vocoder to compress 60ms of normal bursts are sent in alternate 30ms TDMA slots and so comply with the equivalence of one voice channel per 6.25 kHz bandwidth (7K60F1W emission). Additionally, the radio also meets the requirement of one voice channel per 12.5 kHz of channel bandwidth for analogue speech (11k0F3E emission).
