Model Differences Product Name: Xen 802.11bgn Access Point Model Numbers: XAP-1030, XAP-1031, XAP-1032 IC: 8584A-XAP103X FCC ID: W59XAP103X The Models referenced above are access points that use the same metal enclosure and internal hardware. The XAP-1030 includes a 5dBi omni antenna for those installations where an omni antenna is appropriate for the type of required coverage. It is common for the broadband to enter the premise at an outside wall and/or the basement. The use of an omni antenna in these situations “wastes” most of the signal by radiating it towards the outside of the structure. The XAP-1031 and XAP-1032 are to be used to direct the signal towards the area of the structure where the users are. The XAP-1031 allows for a single directional antenna and the XAP-1032 allows for two directional antennas. The rational for the two antennas with the XAP-1032 is that L or U shaped structures where the AP would be place a the corner of the L or the bottom of the U. These installations would not be covered appropriately using a single antenna. The XAP-1032 allows the signal to be directed in two different directions. The XAP-1032 unit supports two antennas by incorporating a RF power splitter on the PCB, which feeds two on board connectors. All units have RPSMA connector(s) located on the back of the unit to which the antenna(s) connect. All models utilize the exact same hardware. The exception being the addition of the two connectors and RF power splitter explained above when using the XAP-1032. Each model has a unique firmware version installed in the unit. The only firmware differences are the model number and default IP address that is hard coded into each model. This is done so that in larger structures, there may be one of each and the user would need to be able to determine which unit was being configured.

RF Exposure Evaluation Declaration Product Name: Xen 802.11bgn Access Point Model Numbers: XAP-1030, XAP-1031, XAP-1032 FCC ID: W59XAP103X Applicant: Luxul Wireless Address: 357 S 670 W Suite 160 Lindon UT 84042 USA Date of Declaration: 18 Aug 2011 The declaration results relate only to the samples calculated. RF Exposure Evaluation Limits Per FCC 1.1310 Table 1B, the maximum permissible RF exposure for an uncontrolled environment is 1 mW/cm 2 for the frequencies used in this device. The worst-case power for the antenna at the center frequency of the band of operation is used for the calculation below. The power density at a 20 cm distance is shown for each of the antenna options. As shown, the calculated power density is below the FCC’s limit for Class B exposure of 1mW/cm 2 . The actual power density for the EUT calculated as shown below. Pd=(Pout*G)/(4*pi*r 2 ) Where Pd = power density in mW/cm 2 Pout = output power to antenna in mW G = gain of antenna in linear scale Pi = 3.1416 R = distance between observation point and the center of the radiator in cm NOTICE: Radiation Exposure Statement This equipment shall only be installed and operated with the antenna types shown above and installed with a minimum of 20 cm of separation distance between the antenna and all persons during normal operation. The 802.11n transmission is a single antenna single chain with 20 or 40 MHz BW. The XAP-1030, XAP-1031, and XAP-1032 connect to a wired network and receive power over an Ethernet port. Power is provided by a Shenzhen Flypower Technology Co. Ltd. PS48IEIAY1000S power supply thru an Engenius EBU-101-01 POE injector. The XAP-1030, XAP-1031, and XAP-1032 are housed in a metal chassis with Reverse SMA connectors for antenna connection. The XAP-1030 uses a 5 dBi omni directional antenna that connects directly to the Reverse SMA connector at the back of the metal housing. The XAP- 1031 uses a directional 4 dBi antenna that connects to the Reverse SMA connector at the back of the metal housing thru a coax cable. The XAP-1030 and XAP-1031 PCBs are interchangeable as they are exactly the same. The XAP-1032 uses the same PCB as the XAP-1030 and XAP- 1032 except the single antenna connector on the PCB is not loaded and the 3 dB splitter and 2 antenna connectors are placed on the PCB. There are 2 Reverse SMA connectors in the metal housing that connect to two 4 dBi directional antennas. The dual antennas are pointed in different directions to achieve better area coverage than found using the single antenna of the XAP-1031.
