After 30 seconds, check the Status LED on the wireless range extender. If it is solid green, the wireless range extender has been successfully installed and is now working. If it is fl ashing blue/green there was a problem with the setup process, most likely the password was not entered correctly or the wrong wireless router was selected. Reset/ Factory Default the wireless range extender again and re-install. Parameter: Default Value Default IP address: 192.168.0.11 Default user name: admin Default password: admin Connect a Client Device The XVW-P30 is now confi gured and extending your wireless network. Connecting a Client Device Connecting a Wireless Client Device: Connect the client device to the SSID used to confi gured the XVW-P30. This will require the passphrase used when confi guring the XVW-P30. Connecting an Ethernet Only Device: Simply set the IP Address to be obtained through DHCP and connect the device to LAN1 or LAN2 WARNINGS AND SAFETY INFORMATION Verify that the electrical circuits have appropriate grounding and overload protection. Verify there is adequate ventilation around the device, and that ambient temperatures meet equipment operation specifi cations. The XVW-P30 is designed for indoor use only. DO NOT place this outdoors. DO NOT install in or near hot or humid places, such as a kitchen or bathroom. Take care to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture. Small parts and plastic bags used for packaging may be harmful to small children. KEEP All ACCESSORIES OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN! The XVW-P30 may become hot when in use for extended time periods. This is normal and is not a malfunction. DO NOT install where it will be exposed to paper, cloth or other fl ammable materials. REGULATORY COMPLIANCE The device complies with internationally recognized standards covering human exposure to electromagnetic fi elds from radio devices. This equipment also complies with FCC radiation exposure set forth for an uncontrolled environment. In order to avoid the possibility of exceeding the FCC radio frequency exposure limits, human proximity to the antenna shall not be less than 20 cm (8 inches) during normal operation. Unauthorized antennas, modifi cations, or attachments could cause damage and may violate regulatory approvals. Any changes or modifi cations not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the authority to operate the equipment. Equipment version marketed in the U.S. is restricted to usage of channels 1-11 only. Health and Safety Recommendations Warnings for the use of Wireless Devices: Please observe all warning notices with regard to the usage of wireless devices Potentially Hazardous Atmospheres: You are reminded of the need to observe restrictions on the use of radio devices in fuel depots, chemical plants etc. and areas where the air contains chemicals or particles (such as grain, dust, or metal powders). Safety in Hospitals: Wireless devices transmit radio frequency energy and may affect medical electrical equipment. When installed adjacent to other equipment, it is advised to verify that the adjacent equipment is not adversely affected. 9 10 11 12 1314 RF Exposure Guidelines Safety Information: The device complies with internationally recognized standards covering human exposure to electromagnetic fi elds from radio devices. Warning: Exposure to Radio Frequency (RF) Radiation: The radiated output of this device is below the FCC radio frequency exposure limits. Nevertheless, the device should be used in such a manner that the potential for human contact during normal operation is minimized. The end user must avoid any extended human RF exposure directly in front of the device, up to a distance of 20cm, when unit is on. When servicing the equipment and selecting a location for the antennas, it is important to note that a minimum distance of 20cm is required between personnel and the device or antenna to comply with the radio frequency exposure limit. The antenna used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20cm from all persons and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. The following safety precautions should be observed: Do not hold any component containing the radio such that the antenna is very close or touching any exposed parts of the body, especially the face or eyes, while transmitting. FCC Statement—Wireless FCC 2.4GHz 802.11bgn This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to r…
