Operational Description

miCoach Smart Ball Antenna Description The antenna is of the type below, an inverted-F wandering type trace antenna. The antenna can be clearly seen below on the board in the picture below along with the radio and supporting components.

RF Exposure Info

RF Exposure Evaluation FCC ID: ZLGSMARTBALL The device is excluded from SAR evaluation and therefore deemed compliant with FCC RF exposure requirements as described below: FCC KDB 447498 D01 v05r02 Section 4.3.1 “The 1-g and 10-g SAR test exclusion thresholds for 100 MHz to 6 GHz at test separation distances ≤ 50 mm are determined by: [(max. power of channel, including tune-up tolerance, mW)/(min. test separation distance, mm)] · [√f(GHz)] ≤ 3.0 for 1-g SAR and ≤ 7.5 for 10-g extremity SAR, where  f(GHz) is the RF channel transmit frequency in GHz  Power and distance are rounded to the nearest mW and mm before calculation  The result is rounded to one decimal place for comparison  3.0 and 7.5 are referred to as the numeric thresholds in the step 2 below The test exclusions are applicable only when the minimum test separation distance is ≤ 50 mm and for transmission frequencies between 100 MHz and 6 GHz. When the minimum test separation distance is < 5 mm, a distance of 5 mm according to 5) in section 4.1 is applied to determine SAR test exclusion.” The device has a maximum output power of 1.16 mW at 2425.7 MHz. The closest spacing of the antenna to the user’s torso is 5 cm. The table below shows the results of the calculation. The value of 0.3613 is well below the exclusion threshold of 3.0, therefore the unit is excluded from SAR evaluation and deemed compliant with FCC RF exposure requirements. SCOPE For details on the Scopes of our Accreditations, please visit: http://www.nwemc.com/accreditations/ REV 2013.03.8 MEASUREMENT UNCERTAINTY Measurement Uncertainty When a measurement is made, the result will be different from the true or theoretically correct value. The difference is the result of tolerances in the measurement system that cannot be completely eliminated. To the extent that technology allows us, it has been our aim to minimize this error. Measurement uncertainty is a statistical expression of measurement error qualified by a probability distribution. A measurement uncertainty estimation has been performed for each test per our internal quality document WP 342. The estimation is used to compare the measured result with its "true" or theoretically correct value. Th e expanded measurement uncertainty (K=2) fo r each test is list ed below. Our measurement data m eets or exceeds the measurement uncertainty requirements of the applicable specification; therefore, the test data can be compared directly to the specification limit to determine compliance. The cal culations for estimating measurement uncertainty are based upon ETSI TR 100 028 (or CISPR 16-4-1 as applicable), and are available upon request. The following table represents the Measurement Uncertainty (MU) budgets for each of the tests that may be contained in this report.
