Long Range Systems, LLC 4550 Excel Pkwy, Suite 200 | Addison, TX 75001 | 214.553.5308 lrsus.com April 20, 2015 TUV SUD BABT FCB Octagon House, Segensworth Road, Fareham, Hampshire, PO15 5RL FCC ID: 2AB6OTX7470 IC:5501A-TX7470 Product Name: TX-7470 and TX-7470-C232 Attn: Director of Certification Request Family Certification TX7470-C232 Transmtitter. The LRS model TX-7470 and model TX-7470-C232 transmitter design and PCB are identical. The different models offer customers a variation in the user interface. The TX-7470 Figure 1 is a transmitter with button keypad and LCD display and is designed to interact directly and immediately with a user in close proximity to the transmitter. Whereas the TX-7470-C232 Figure 2 is machine interface controlled solely by a serial port connection and a computer. The transmitter can be stationed anywhere a wired connection allows. There is no visual or mechanical feedback to a user in the TX-7470-C232 model. Electronically sections are identical except for parts needed or not needed in the user interface sections. The PCB does not change between models, only certain electronic parts and components are designated as Populate or Do Not Populate on the model number Bill of Material. Power, microcontroller, amplifier, transmitter, and antenna sections are identical between models. Mechanically the same principal applies, since there is no need for immediate user interaction to the transmitter, the TX-7470-C232 does not have a button or display interface in the plastic case, however the TX- 7470-C232 model has a DB9 serial connector which the TX-7470 does not. When applicable justify conclusion for selected exposure level and separation distance. 1.4 Source Duty Cycle Measurement Duty cycle was measured with the EUT in a diagnostic continuous range test mode (most aggressive automatic transmission mode) with 9.16 seconds of summed transmit time per 20 seconds. Duty cycle is 45.8 % yielding a factor of -3.39 dB. This yields a very conservative result. 1.5 Spacing Measurement Spacing was determined by direct measurement from antenna surface to nearest keyboard key row (the F1 to F4 keys) as shown below. The result was 105 mm. 90 mm was selected as conservative figure based on unit shape. 16332 Exposure Supplemental Report Rev01 Page 2 of 3 Professional Testing (EMI) Inc. 1.6 Power to Exposure Calculation Radio transmit power was determined by conducted measurement cited in the test report.
