APPLICANT: LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES FCC ID: AS5ONEBTS-07 1 EXHIBIT 3: FCC REQUIRED INFORMATION (PART 2.1033) The following information is presented in the content and format requested by the FCC: Section 2.1033 (c)(1): The full name and mailing address of the manufacturer of the device and the applicant for certification. Manufacturer: Lucent Technologies 6200 E Broad St Columbus, OH 43213-1569 U S Applicant: Lucent Technologies 101 Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733-3030 Room 4C-621 Attention: Cynthia Donovan Section 2.1033(c)(2): FCC Identifier AS5ONEBTS-07 Section 2.1033(c)(4): Type or types of emission: 1M25F9W Section 2.1033(c)(5): Frequency range Transmit: 1930–1990 MHz Section 2.1033(c)(6): Range of operating power values or specific operating power levels, and description of any means provided for variation of operating power. RESPONSE: The PCS CDMA EDPD Transceiver System has a maximum power output at its antenna terminals of 20 Watts (43.01dBm) for a single carrier, 40 Watts (46.02 dBm) for two carriers, and a maximum power output of 60 Watts (+47.78 dBm) for three carriers. The steady state range of power adjustment at the output is 30 dB and is accomplished via a digitally controlled attenuators in the UCR-1900. The minimum power is therefore 30 dB below the maximum (+13.01dBm) power for a single carrier across the Broadband PCS down-link Band (1930-1990 MHz). When operated the overall integrated transmitter will maintain its rated output power within the FCC allowable accuracy of +2 / -4 dB. The power is under continuous software control. The DDpx filters provides the RF feedback to the Enhanced Test and Diagnostic Unit (ETDU) which provides a sampling monitor of the output of the transmit amplifiers and feeds it back to the UCR for system software processing and distortion cancellation. The system software along with the system components are integrated as a system to enable Closed Loop Gain Control (CLGC) to provide constant power over temperature, and (2) Lucent’s proprietary Digital Pre Distortion (DPD) technology which enables software to communicate between the transceiver, power amplifier and the transmit filter to achieve this goal. Section 2.1033(c)(7): RESPONSE: The PCS CDMA EDPD Transceiver System has a maximum power output at its antenna terminals of 20 Watts (43.01dBm) for a single carrier, 40 Watts (46.02 dBm) for two carriers, and a maximum power output of 60 Watts (+47.78 dBm) for three carriers. Lucent Technologies Inc. - Proprietary 1 Use pursuant to Company Instructions.

Operational Description

APPLICANT: LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES FCC ID: AS5ONEBTS-07 Exhibit 5a - System Description Enhanced Digital Predistortion (EDPD) Response: The block diagrams attached to this exhibit are considered to be highly proprietary both to Lucent Technologies and to Lucent’s contracted manufacturer/supplier. It contains critical design information that can not be made available for public inspection. It’s distribution is restricted solely for Lucent employees with “a need to know”. Lucent Technologies requests that this information be held confidential and it must not be made available for public inspection. Lucent Technologies FLEXENT OneBTS PCS 4.0 Modular Cell with Enhanced Digital Predistortion (EDPD) incorporates the PCS UMTS-CDMA Radio (UCR1900), BNJ27; the P2PAM power amplifier; the 20 MHz wideband, low loss, A/D Dual Duplex (DDpx) bandpass filters, and the Enhanced Test and Diagnostic Unit (ETDU). This PCS CDMA EDPD Transceiver System is the subject of this application for certification. The PCS CDMA EDPD Transceiver System consists of two principle RF active component circuit packs: (1) the UMTS-CDMA Radio (UCR1900), Model BNJ27, which was previously authorized by the Federal Communications Commission under FCC ID: AS5ONEBTS-04, and (2) the P2PAM power amplifier. The block diagrams are attached to this exhibit and are requested to be held as confidential information in compliance with the request for confidentiality submitted with this initial filing for the PCS CDMA EDPD Transceiver System. Operational Description The Lucent Technologies PCS CDMA Transceiver System with Enhanced Digital Pre-Distortion is a system that evaluates the output signal from the amplifier and via digital signal processing compensates it by digitally pre-distorting the signal prior to the radio RF stage in order to enhance overall system performance. For EDPD, the UCR’s digital hardware performs complex correction on the combined multi-carrier signal to pre-distort each I and Q sample at its baseband frequency. This pre-distorted signal is affected by natural distortion during amplification in such a way that the fully-amplified RF signal is significantly more linear than it would have been without EDPD. The more linear signal means lower spectral growth and an improved FCC compliance margin. The System Block diagram attached below shows two typical layouts of a EDPD Transceiver. This shows both a single P2PAM and Dual P2PAM/ MCA configuration. In each case the Dual duplex filter sends a calibrated transmit waveform to the ETDU. The ETDU receives, samples and digitizes the signal from the amplifier output and conveys the information to the UCR for EDPD signal processing. APPLICANT: Lucent Technologies Inc. -2 - FCC ID: AS5ONEBTS-07 Exhibit 12 SECTION 2.1046 MEASUREMENT OF RADIO FREQUENCY POWER OUTPUT The test arrangements used to measure the radio frequency power output of the PCS CDMA-EDPD Transceiver/ AS5ONEBTS-07 is on the following pages. Measurements were made respectively at each frequency where Occupied Bandwidth measurements were performed. The use of the PCS CDMA-EDPD Transceiver is for one to three CDMA carriers. This requires that the J4 power level be calibrated for the specific channel of use. The test configuration, Figure 12a, allowed the measurement of output power for each channel investigated for Occupied Bandwidth. These included the upper and lower Block edges for each PCS Block. The PCS CDMA-EDPD Transceiver system has a maximum power output at the antenna terminals of 20.0 Watts (43.01 dBm) +2 / -4 dB, it also has a minimum power output at the antenna terminals of 0.010 Watts (10.01 dBm +2 / -4 dB, across the PCS downlink Band (1930.00-1990.00 MHz). The signal applied to the PCS CDMA-EDPD Transceiver is defined in Table 12.1 and is "Table 6.5.2-1 Base Station Test Model, Nominal" from 3GPP2 C.S0010-0, December 1999, Recommended Minimum Performance Standards for cdma2000 Spread Spectrum Base Stations,. The power was reset to a minimum of 20.0 Watts at each measurement frequency to verify the spectral performance at that power level at each specific frequency of interest. The attenuation range was also verified. The specific Frequencies and channels and set power level was documented on each "Occupied Bandwidth" sheet.
