Printed in Canada 29004684 R001 Replacing WLS909NB Key Batteries To replace the batteries, remove the screw on the back of the key and carefully separate the two sides of the key’s plastic casing. Remove the old batteries from between the two metal clips. Insert the new batteries according to the diagram at right and reattach the two sides of the key’s plastic casing. The WLS909NB requires three batteries of type LR44. NOTE: The polarity of the batteries must be observed. WLS909NB TM key ring four option buttons – + LIMITED WARRANTY Digital Security Controls Ltd. warrants that for a period of twelve months from the date of purchase, the product shall be free of defect in materials and workmanship under normal use and that in fulfilment of any breach of such warranty, Digital Security Controls Ltd. shall, at its option, repair or replace the defective equipment upon return of the equipment to its repair depot. This warranty applies only to defects in parts and workmanship and not to damage incurred in shipping or handling, or damage due to causes beyond the control of Digital Security Controls Ltd. such as lightning, excessive voltage, mechanical shock, water damage, or damage arising out of abuse, alteration or improper application of the equipment. The foregoing warranty shall apply only to the original buyer, and is and shall be in lieu of any and all other warranties, whether expressed or implied and of all other obligations or liabilities on the part of Digital Security Controls Ltd. This warranty contains the entire warranty. Your installer will indicate each function by applying a circular label beside each of the four buttons. Signals will not be received if the key is not within the range of the wireless receiver. Some of the most commonly used functions are as follows: Stay Arming Press this button to arm your system in the Stay mode. All perimeter zones will be armed, such as all window and door contacts, but the interior zones will remain inactive, allowing you to stay on the premises without setting off an alarm. Away Arming* Press this button to arm your system in the Away mode. Both the interior and exterior zones will be armed, allowing you to exit the premises. Disarm* Press this button to disarm your system. You do not have to enter your access code when you use the key to disarm the system. Fire Press this button to notify your central monitoring station of a fire condition. Auxiliary Press this button to notify your central monitoring station of a non-medical emergency. Please discuss the functionality of this button with your installer. Panic Press this button to notify your central monitoring station of a situation requiring the police, such as a break-in. Other options are available. CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION Device: Narrow Band Transmitter Model: WLS909NB North America ESI Identifier: Schematic Diagram: Description: The narrow band KEY FOB transmitter ( NBTX ) sends the status information encoded appropriately to the control unit of the wireless security system after a button switch being activated. This unit consists of two main circuit sections. A control section with a microprocessor & digital logic and the RF transmitter. The control section receives status from button switch after activation and then coded to produce the ASK modulation signal. This section also controls transmitter activity. The transmitter consists of a crystal reference oscillator, a divide-by-32 prescaler, and a phase detector forming a phase-lock-loop ( PLL )system. The phase comparator compares the reference frequency and the divide-by-32 output signal frequency, if there is any difference, it will produce an error voltage to lock the free running CCO to 433.92MHz. A RF amplifier with matching compensation provides the output signal to the antenna.

The packet contains all of the necessary information to indicate which sensor generated the packet, the type of sensor and the status of the sensor’s inputs. The data is sent at a rate of 500 μS per bit or 2 Kbits per second. Figure 1 shows the bit timing used for all bits in the packet. Where a low logic present for the 500 μS bit time represents a data logic “0” and 250 μS low then 250 μS high represents a data logic “1”. Figure 1: Bit Timing Figure 2 shows the format of the transmitted data packet. Bytes highlighted are bytes that are variable information that would depend on the current status, module type and serial number of the particular device.
