Battery Installation• This system is designed to work with EvereadyAlkaline Energizer Batteries. Do not install any other type. The reliability of the security system depends on itsbatteries, and “no name” or generic brand batteries maynot provide the best quality and dependability. • Use fresh batteries. Most batteries have a “best before” date printed on their packaging or on the batteries them-selves. Buy batteries that have a “best before” date of twoyears or more from your purchase date. • When disposing of used batteries, follow the instructions and precautions printed on the batteries. Many cities andcommunities have collection sites or services for usedhousehold batteries. Contact your municipal offices forinformation on the disposal of used batteries. Remove the motion detector from its mounting plate by holding the sensor by itssides and pushing up. Install four fresh Eveready Alkaline Energizer AA batteries. Besure to insert the batteries in the proper orientation. Replace the sensor on its mount-ing plate, making sure it snaps into place. After the batteries are installed, the detec-tor will take 60 seconds to warm up. During this time the LED will flash. FCC Compliance StatementCAUTION : Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Digital Security Controls Ltd. could void your authority to use this equipment. This equipment generates and uses radio frequency energy and if not installed and used properly, in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, may cause interference to radio and television reception. It has been type tested and found to comply with the limits for Class B device in accordance with the specifications in Subpart “B” of Part 15 of FCC Rules, which are designed to provide reasonable protection against such interference in any residential installation. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause interference to tel e- vision or radio reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to cor-rect the interference by one or more of the following measures:• Re-orient the receiving antenna• Relocate the alarm control with respect to the receiver• Move the alarm control away from the receiver • Connect the alarm control into a different outlet so that alarm control and receiver are on different circuits. If necessary, the user should consult the dealer or an experienced radio/television technician for additional suggestions. CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION Device: Narrow Band Transmitter Model: WLS914NB ESI Identifier: Schematic Diagram: Description: The narrow band pet immune transmitter sends the sensor status information encoded appropriately to the control unit of the wireless security system. It features dual PIR sensors incorporating High Density Digital Analysis and multi-level signal processing with a vertically interleaving beam pattern for superior intruder detection while being immune to pets weighing up to 851bs/38kg. This unit consists of two main circuit sections. A control section with a microprocessor & digital logic and the RF transmitter. The control section receives sensor inputs and unit status information that is then coded to produce the ASK modulation signal. This section also controls transmitter’s activity. The transmitter consists of a crystal reference oscillator, a divide-by-64 prescaler, and a phase detector forming a phase-lock-loop ( PLL )system. The phase comparator compares the reference frequency and the divide-by-64 output signal frequency, if there is any difference, it will produce an error voltage to lock the free running VCO to 433.92MHz. A matching network provides the output signal to the antenna.

The packet contains all of the necessary information to indicate which sensor generated the packet, the type of sensor and the status of the sensor’s inputs. The data is sent at a rate of 500 μS per bit or 2 Kbits per second. Figure 1 shows the bit timing used for all bits in the packet. Where a low logic present for the 500 μS bit time represents a data logic “0” and 250 μS low then 250 μS high represents a data logic “1”. Figure 1 – Bit Timing Figure 2 shows the format of the transmitted data packet. Bytes highlighted in green are bytes that are variable information that would depend on the current status, module type and serial number of the particular device.
