Each tag is labeled with a unique serial number and expiry date for easy, accurate identification. The bottom of the tag is curved to ensure a snug and comfortable fit. Tag pulse technology allows tags to emit periodic signals to the HALO system that allow facilities to accurately track and locate infants. Infant Tags are available with and without tag pulse technology. APPLICATION Proper banding will limit the incidence of nuisance alarms. A properly fastened strap should keep the bottom of the Infant Tag against the infant’s skin, but it should neither restrict the infant’s circulation nor cause discomfort or chafing. eXI recommends using either the Velcro Strap or the Stockinette to attach the Infant Tag. However, other options are available. For more information, contact your dealer or eXI directly. STEP 1: APPLY SECURE STRIP* Secure StripAR3SS01-000 (Roll of 1000 pre-cut adhesives) •Hold Infant Tag with top uppermost •Remove Secure Strip from tape by slightly bending tape, allowing strip to separate •Center strip on bottom of tag and press firmly into place •Follow instructions for type of strap used STEP 2: BANDING Velcro StrapAR3WS01-VLC (Pack of 10) •Insert velcro tab end of strap through one arm of tag. Guide it from top to bottom of tag, with tan color next to the infant’s skin •Pull taut •Peel backing from Secure Strip •Place tag on infant’s calf or upper arm •Guide tab end through tag’s other arm •Fold tab back over arm to adhere velcro to strap Stockinette (S - 1.25”)AR3WS01-SML Stockinette (M - 1.625”)AR3WS01-MED Stockinette (L - 2”)AR2WSD1-SOC (Bag of 50) •Peel backing from Secure Strip •Place tag on infant’s calf or upper arm •Center stockinette over tag Coban (3M product available from medical supply companies) •Peel backing from Secure Strip •Place tag on infant’s calf or upper arm •Wrap Coban around tag, covering the tag completely; ensure that you do not wrap the Coban too tightly CLEANING TAG S In order to disinfect without causing damage to the tags, use one of the following cleaning methods: METHOD 1 •Scrub each tag with germicidal solution of approximately 60 seconds Note: Phenolic or iodine base solution is preferred •Wipe each tag individually (using a new alcohol wipe for each) •Allow tag to dry for 30 seconds METHOD 2 •Use cold sterilization in Cidex or Totacide Note: Do not immerse tags for more than 30 minutes METHOD 3 •Use gas diffusion sterilization methods Note: Battery leakage may occur if tags are exposed to heat in excess of 57°C (135°F) Important: Tags are incompatible with disinfectants containing Glycol Ether. STRAPS The Velcro Strap and the Stockinette are disposable and intended for single use, which eliminates the need for sterilization and disinfection. If need be, the Velcro Strap will withstand hand washing. STORAGE Tag RackAGETR02-000 Store tags in eXI’s Tag Rack at room temperature. The Tag Rack holds up to 42 curved Infant Tags. Regularly rotate your tag inventory so that tags are used evenly. ORDER INFORMATION To re-order tags, secure strips, or bands, contact your dealer or eXI directly.
