HALO ANGELMATCH-USER GUIDE 980-000032-000R1.01 1 OVERVIEW HALO AngelMatch can be used anywhere and anytime to confirm the match between a mother and her baby. A simple press of a button provides instant audible and visual confirmation. HALO AngelMatch can be easily expanded at any time by adding more mother tags and infant tags. COMPONENTS: HALO AngelMatch includes five (5) infant tags and five (5) mother tags. The bundle also includes ten (10) straps for the infant tags and five (5) lanyard straps for the mother tags. Infant tag Mother Tag Lanyard strap for Mother Tag* Infant Tag Strap *Other strap types such as breakaway straps, pullout/retractable cords, clip-ons, etc. can be used for the mother tag depending on hospital preference. The straps shipped could be of slightly different model than the one shown on picture. Extra infant tag straps and lanyards can be ordered through your dealer or eXI. Alternatively, they can be ordered directly from the manufacturer. Please contact your dealer or eXI for more information. LED Button Securing pin & flap HALO ANGELMATCH USER GUIDE 980-000032-000R1.01 2 2 BONDING MOTHER TAG WITH THE INFANT TAG The first step is to bond the mother tag with the infant tag(s). The mother tag has the capability of handling multiple births (twin, triplets etc.) and can be bonded with up to eight infant tags. 1. When the mother and the baby/babies are ready, take one mother tag and as many infant tags as are required. 2. Hold the mother tag with the button facing upwards. Make sure you have the infant tags readily available. 4. When 5 seconds have expired, the tag will beep and the LED will change from flashing green to solid red. You now have 5 seconds to release the button. 3. Press the button on the mother tag and hold it pressed down for 5 seconds. A beeping sound will indicate when five seconds have passed. 5. When the button is released the tag will beep and the LED will change from solid red to solid green. You now have 5 seconds to press and hold the button again. HALO ANGELMATCH USER GUIDE 980-000032-000R1.01 3 8. A beeping sound will confirm the successful bond between mother tag and infant tag. 9. If more than one infant tag is to be bonded with the same mother tag, make sure that the mother tag button is kept pressed down. Do not release the button between infant tags*. Point the mother tag to the next infant tag to be bonded. 10. When all tags are successfully bonded with the mother tag, let go of the button on the mother tag. 11. Attach the infant tag to the baby and give the mother tag to the mother**. *Note: If the button is released by mistake before all tags are bonded, the process has to be started over from the beginning and all tags need to be re-bonded. During the bonding process of multiple infant tags, keep them about three feet from each other. **Note: The bonding can be done either before or after attaching the tag to the infant, depending on preference and hospital policies. The infant tag(s) will remain bonded with the mother tag until the next bonding process, which will clear the mother tag memory and enter new tag(s). 7. Without letting go of the button, place the infant tag so that it is within 12 inches of the mother tag. The mother tag will now bond with the infant tag. 6. Press and hold the button again. The tag will beep and the LED will change to flashing orange. The tag is now in bonding mode. HALO ANGELMATCH USER GUIDE 980-000032-000R1.01 4 3 ATTACHING THE TAG TO THE BABY Hold the tag with the top (Blue) uppermost and thread the strap through one Tag arm, across the bottom of the Tag and through the other arm. Place the strap around the baby’s wrist or leg and insert the securing pin in an appropriate position on the strap. Fold over the securing flap and press firmly so that the securing pin snaps in place. Make sure the strap is not restricting circulation, or it will potentially cause chaffing. HALO ANGELMATCH USER GUIDE 980-000032-000R1.01 5 4 MATCHING MOTHER WITH BABY Anytime and anywhere the mother or hospital staff want to confirm the match between the mother and a baby, the following steps apply: 2. Press the mother tag button and release. 1. Bring the baby and the mothe r tags together so that they are within 12 inches of proximity. 3. If there is a match, a ‘good match’ melody will play and the LED on the mother tag will display a solid green light. 4. If there is a mismatch, a ‘bad match’ melody will play and the LED on the mother tag will display a solid red light. Take immediate action according to hospital policies and procedures. HALO ANGELMATCH USER GUIDE 980-000032-000R1.01 6 5 DISCHARGE When the mother and the baby are ready to leave the hospital, simply release the infant tag by cutting the strap. The infant tag(s) will remain bonded with the mother tag until the next bonding process, which will clear the mother tag memory and enter new tag(s). It is recommended that the mother tag is re- bonded with the infant tag(s) every time HALO AngelMatch is assigned to a mother and her baby. To clean the mother tag and infant tag, please follow Care Guidelines below. 6 CARE GUIDELINES ‰ The Infant tag is fully submersible in water (up to 5 ft) and will withstand cleaning. Use one of the following cleaning methods: METHOD 1 ƒ Scrub each tag with germicidal solution for approximately 60 seconds. Note: Phenolic or iodine based solution is preferred ƒ Wipe each tag individually (using a new alcohol wipe for each) ƒ Allow tag to dry for 30 seconds METHOD 2 ƒ Use cold sterilization in Cidex or Totacide Note: Do not immerse tags for more than 30 minutes METHOD 3 ƒ Use gas diffusion sterilization methods. Note: Battery leakage may occur if tags are exposed to heat in excess of 57°C (135°F) ‰ The Mother tag can be cleaned by spraying a germicidal solution over the tag and then wiping it down using individual alcohol wipes for each tag. At 307kHz operation, this device shall be complied with 15.209 general technical requirement and the device category is DCD-" Part 15 low power transmitter below 1.705MHz." At 433.92MHz, this device shall be complied with 15.231(e) technical requirement and the device category is DSC-Part15 security/remote control transmitter". Based upon the theory of operation, this application shall be filed as composite device under one FCC ID number. Two applications shall be filed, one is under DCD and the other one is DSC. <ANSWER> EXI is aware of the composite application and agreed to pay the second submission fee. Question #2: For 307kHz measurement procedures, loop antenna shall be used. Loop antenna is included in the measurement instrumentation equipment list and there is no measurement procedure provided.
