American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 October 24, 2007 RE: ATCB005545 FCC ID: K9L3003TRTX & IC: 2439A-3003TRTX for Skytech II, Inc. I have a few comments on this Application. Depending on your responses, kindly understand there may be additional comments. 1. Please provide a better operational description for this device. In particular, how does each mode for this transmitter operate? I need a better operational description to determine if this transmitter meets the limitations against sending data or temperature and does it meet the limitations for automatic transmissions in Section 15.231 of the FCC Rules and Annex 1 of RSS-210. I fail to understand how the Thermostat Mode will not transmit automatically to shut off the fireplace when the desired room temperature is reached. 2. Please provide more internal photos that show the construction of the device. No LCD screen is shown in the internal photos but one is clearly visible in the external photos. How is the device connected to the external switch controls? Three buttons are clearly visible on the external photos but only two possible switches are shown in the internal photos. 3. On the submitted FCC 731 Form Section IV Item 1 must have the “yes box” checked or we cannot issue a grant of Certification. On the submitted form, this box is empty. Please provide a corrected FCC 731 Form. 4. Please provide an IC label for each model number being approved for Industry Canada. You only provided one IC label and there are two different model numbers. There is also no Trade name on the IC label provided as required by Section 5.2 of RSS-Gen Issue 2 dated June 2007. IC requires the certification number, the model number and trade name or company number to be either on the IC label or the device itself. 5. Please provide a description of the differences between the two model numbers as required by Section 5.2 of RSP-100 Issue 9 dated June 2007 where different model numbers must be electrically identical or differ only by Class I permissive changes defined in Section 6.2 of this document. 6. Please upload a confidentiality letter for the IC portion of this filing. On September 10, 2007, IC started requiring all exhibits in any filing to be uploaded to their Website. As a result, the applicant or his authorized agent must request confidentiality of exhibits that are considered trade secret. Please see the ATCB IC application form on our Website. It has been updated to include a sample confidentiality letter for IC that you may use. 7. For your information – The IC test report references the wrong version or RSS-210. On page 4 of the test report you reference Issue 5 of RSS-210. Issue 7 of RSS-210 has been in effect since June of 2007. Please make a note of this and if testing was completed before June of 2007, the test report does not need to be modified. Otherwise, I’d refer to the Issue 7 version of RSS-210. Also the boilerplate language of your test report states that average measurements were made in two different ways. On page 8 it states that average values were obtained with a 10 Hz VBW. On page 9 it states that average values were obtained by applying a duty cycle correction factor. It appears you used the page 9 methods but your test  Page 2 October 24, 2007 description should match your measurements. Please be more careful about using boilerplate or canned test descriptions in your test reports. Richard Fabina Examining Engineer mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.

Manufacturer Address 947 LIN SEN RD., WU-FENG SHIANG TAICHUNG HSIEN R.O.C. 1.3 Technical data of EUT Equipment Transmitter Model No 3003TR / 3003TR TX FCC ID K9L3003TRTX Power Type Powered by 3V Battery (AAA Size 1.5V X2). The EUT (3003TR / 3003TR TX) is remote transmitter. The operation frequency is 303.8Mhz. Press the button on remote transmitter, can set the Program mode / UP / DOWN / Continuous Pilot button. 1.4 Description of Support Equipment The EUT itself forms a system. No support equipment is required for its normal operation. Page: 6/25 Report Number: MLT0704P15001 1.5 Configuration of System Under Test 1.6 Test Procedure All measurements contained in this report were performed according to the techniques described in Measurement procedure ANSI C63.4: 2003 "Measurement of Intentional Radiators." 1.7 General Test Condition The conditions under which the EUT operates were varied to determine their effect on the equipment's emission characteristics. The final configuration of the test system and the mode of operation used during these tests was chosen as that which produced the highest emission levels. However, only those conditions which the EUT was considered likely to encounter in normal use were investigated. EUT Page: 7/25 Report Number: MLT0704P15001 II. Conducted Emissions Requirements The EUT operates solely by the battery. According to the rule of Section 15.207(c), the EUT exempt to the power line conducted test. Page: 8/25 Report Number: MLT0704P15001 III. Radiated Emissions Requirements 3.1 General Configuration: Prior to open-field testing, the EUT was placed in a shielded enclosure and scanned at a close distance to determine its emission characteristics. The physical arrangement of the EUT was varied (within the scope of arrangements likely to be encountered in actual use) to determine the effect on the unit's emanations in amplitude, directivity, and frequency. The exact system configuration which produced the highest emissions was noted so it could be reproduced later during the open-field tests. This was done to ensure that the final measurements would demonstrate the worst-case interference potential of the EUT. 3.2 General Configuration: Final radiation measurements were made on a three-meter, open-field test site. The EUT system was placed on a nonconductive turntable which is 0.8 meters height, top surface 1.0 x 1.5 meter. The spectrum was examined from 250 MHz to 2.5 GHz in order to cover the whole spectrum below 10th harmonic which could generate from the EUT. During the test, EUT was set to transmit continuously & Measurements spectrum range from 30 MHz to5 GHz is investigated. For measurements below 1 GHz the resolution bandwidth is set to 100 kHz for peak detection measurements or 120 kHz for quasi-peak detection measurements. Peak detection is used unless otherwise noted as quasi-peak. For …
