Dexen Level 2 User’s Manual Transmitter –Dexen Level 2 This remote control SYSTEM offers the user a battery-operated remote control that operates most millivolt gas valves used in some heater rated gas logs, gas fireplaces and other gas heating appliances. The transmitter operates on (2) 1.5V AAA batteries. It is recommended that ALKALINE batteries always be used for longer battery life and maximum operational performance. Before using the transmitter, install the (2) AAA transmitter batteries into the battery compartment. (Use caution that batteries are installed in the proper direction) KEY SETINGS - Operates unit to on/off position, Manually ON/OFF. - Operates unit to flame position for Hi / Middle / Low. - Operates unit to enable/disable Continuous Pilot. - Operates unit to lock / unlock the key pad behind the transmitter. Note: The indicatory LED will be shined by key pressed during the key unlock. ON OPERATION Press the key the appliance flame will come on. OFF OPERATION Press the key again the appliance flame will shut off. High / Low OPERATION When the Key is first pressed the output will be on High. Then the key is pressed again that will change into Low. A second push will turn the burner/valve into High. Continuous Pilot OPERATION When the key is first pressed the output will enabled continuous pilot. Then the key is pressed again that will disabled continuous pilot. Key Lock OPERATION When the key is first pressed all the function key will be locked. Then the key is pressed again that will be unlocked. ¾ FCC Compliance Statement: This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. The EUT (Level2 TX) is remote transmitter. The operation frequency is 303.8MHz. Press the button on remote transmitter, can set the Program HI / LO / Pilot button. 1.4 Description of Support Equipment The EUT itself forms a system. No support equipment is required for its normal operation. Page: 6/25 Report Number: MLT0708P15001 1.5 Configuration of System Under Test 1.6 Test Procedure All measurements contained in this report were performed according to the techniques described in Measurement procedure ANSI C63.4: 2003 "Measurement of Intentional Radiators." 1.7 General Test Condition The conditions under which the EUT operates were varied to determine their effect on the equipment's emission characteristics. The final configuration of the test system and the mode of operation used during these tests was chosen as that which produced the highest emission levels. However, only those conditions which the EUT was considered likely to encounter in normal use were investigated. EUT Page: 7/25 Report Number: MLT0708P15001 II. Conducted Emissions Requirements The EUT operates solely by the battery. According to the rule of Section 15.207(d), the EUT exempt to the power line conducted test. Radiated Emissions Requirements 3.1 General Configuration: Prior to open-field testing, the EUT was placed in a shielded enclosure and scanned at a close distance to determine its emission characteristics. The physical arrangement of the EUT was varied (within the scope of arrangements likely to be encountered in actual use) to determine the effect on the unit's emanations in amplitude, directivity, and frequency. The exact system configuration which produced the highest emissions was noted so it could be reproduced later during the open-field tests. This was done to ensure that the final measurements would demonstrate the worst-case interference potential of the EUT. 3.2 General Configuration: Final radiation measurements were made on a three-meter, open-field test site. The EUT system was placed on a nonconductive turntable which is 0.8 meters height, top surface 1.0 x 1.5 meter. The spectrum was examined from 250 MHz to 2.5 GHz in order to cover the whole spectrum below 10th harmonic which could generate from the EUT. During the test, EUT was set to transmit continuously & Measurements spectrum range from 30 MHz to5 GHz is investigated. For measurements below 1 GHz the resolution bandwidth is set to 100 kHz for peak detection measurements or 120 kHz for quasi-peak detection measurements.
