SATELLINE-M3-TR1 User Guide, Version 3.0 3 RESTRICTIONS ON USE SATELLINE-M3-TR1 radio modem module has been designed to operate on 403...473 MHz, the exact use of which differs from one region and/or country to another. The user of a radio modem must take care that the said device is not operated without the permission of the local authorities on frequencies other than those specifically reserved and intended for use without a specific permit. This user manual is universal; please notice the FCC 25 kHz requirements in US. . SATELLINE-M3-TR1 is allowed to be use in the following countries, either on licence free channels or on channels where the operation requires a licence. More detailed information is available at the local frequency management authority. Countries: AT, AU, BE, BG, CA, CH, CY, CZ, DE, DK, EE, ES, FI, FR, GB, GR, HU, IE, IS, IN, IT, KZ, LT, LU, LV, MT, NL, NO, PL, PT, RU, RO, SE, SG, SI, SK, TR, UA, US and ZA. WARNING! Users of SATELLINE-M3-TR1 in North America should be aware, that due to the allocation of the frequency band 406.0 – 406.1 MHz for government use only, the use of radio modem on this frequency band without a proper permit is strictly forbidden. WARNING! Under Industry Canada regulations, this radio transmitter may only operate using an antenna of a type and maximum (or lesser) gain approved for the transmitter by Industry Canada. To reduce potential radio interference to other users, the antenna type and its gain should be so chosen that the equivalent isotropically radiated power (e.i.r.p.) is not more than that necessary for successful communication. SATELLINE-M3-TR1 User Guide, Version 3.0 4 PRODUCT CONFORMITY SATELLINE-M3-TR1 SATEL Oy hereby declares that SATELLINE-M3-TR1 radio modem modules are in compliance with the essential requirements (radio performance, electromagnetic compatibility and electrical safety) and other relevant provisions of Directive 1999/5/EC. Therefore the equipment is labelled with the following CE-marking. The notification sign informs users that the operating frequency range of the device is not harmonised throughout the market area, and the local spectrum authority should be contacted before the usage of the radio modem is used . SATELLINE-M3-TR1 User Guide, Version 3.0 5 WARRANTY AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Read these safety instructions carefully before using the product: -Warranty will be void, if the product is used in any way that is in contradiction with the instructions given in this manual, or if the radio modem housing has been opened or tampered with. -The radio modem is only to be operated at frequencies allocated by local authorities, and without exceeding the given maximum allowed output power ratings. SATEL and its distributors are not responsible, if any products manufactured by it are used in unlawful ways. -The devices mentioned in this manual are to be used only according to the instructions described in this manual. Faultless and safe operation of the devices can be guaranteed only if the transport, storage, operation and handling of the devices is appropriate. This also applies to the maintenance of the products. -To prevent damage it is recommended that both the radio modem and any terminal devices are switched OFF before con…

EF grant note 08.03.2013/ML FCC ID: MRBSATEL-TA13G Form 731 Confirmation Number: EA947137 According to KDB 634817, For radio modem module SATELLINE-M3-TR1 (type name SATEL-TA13G) has been applied the FCC ID with extended frequencies. This is the reason for EF grant note: EF: This device may contain functions that are not operational in U.S Territories except as noted in the filing. This grant has extended frequencies as noted in the filing and section 2.927 (b) applies to this authorization. Salo, Finland, March 8 th , 2013 Marita Latovehmas SATEL Oy Type Approval Engineer
PRODUCT INFORMATION SATELLINE-M3-TR1 v.1.1 07.03.2013/ML SATEL Oy, P.O.Box 142, FIN-24101 Salo, Finland Street: Meriniitynkatu 17, FIN-24100 Salo, Finland Tel: +358 2 777 7800, Fax: +358 2 777 7810, E-mail: [email protected] www.satel.com Calculation of the Necessary Bandwidth for SATELLINE-M3-TR1 UHF Radio Data Modem Transmitter (Transceiver) SATELLINE-M3-TR1 radio modem uses frequency modulation and the signal is modulated with digital information. Based on these facts, the necessary bandwidth is calculated according to the formula in the section §2.202 (g) part III-A/1. Calculation for 12.5 kHz channel spacing B n = 2M+2DK , M = B/2 , K = 1.2 B = 4800 bauds => M = 2400 s -1 D = 3.3 kHz B n = 2 x 2400 Hz + 2 x 3300 Hz x 1.2 = 12.7 kHz Note! Due to the fact that the maximum deviation never occurs simultaneously with the maximum modulation frequency, the real bandwidth of the emitted signal is lower than the ones calculated according to the formula above.
