CP-TXHH Universal 300/390 MHz Handheld Transmitter The CP-TXHH radio transmitter is designed to provide reliable WIRELESS activation of any automatic door. It is part of the most extensive line of programmable wireless products available. The CP-TXHH radio transmitter is a universal unit which can operate in either the 300MHz or 390MHz systems. The CP-TXHH transmitter is housed in a lightweight, ergonomic handheld enclosure. Two screws allow access for easy battery replacement and programming/setup. Basic Operation 1) Remove the cover of the handheld enclosure by removing the two screws on the back side of the unit. 2) Program the transmitter by setting the 12 dip switches on the printed circuit board (PCB) to match the receiver. Only use the first 10 switches for the 300MHz system. Then, set the slide switch (SW2) to either 300MHz or 390MHz as shown below (fig. 1) 4) Pushbutton 1 will transmit the code on the dip switches, while pushbutton 2 will transmit the same code with dip switch #2 in the opposite position. 3) Reassemble the unit into the enclosure and tighten the two screws. CP-TXHH CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION The CP-TXHH remote control transmitter basically consists of an RF oscillator section that is driven and controlled by a single chip microprocessor. (see block diagram) The RF oscillator / amp section is a simple one stage element composed of integrated circuit IC2 and SAW resonators CR2 & CR3. The operating frequencies are 300MHz and 387MHz. Microprocessor IC1, upon power up, reads a number of jumpers and switches to determine its operating frequency, function and what ID code data is to be sent. Once this has been determined, the single stage RF section is then AM modulated with the proper data. For the carrier operating frequency of 387MHz, the data is formatted such that a logical "1" is 10KHz and a logical "0" is 20KHz. For the operating carrier frequency of 300MHz, a logical "1" is just simply leaving the carrier on for 1.5mSec and turning it off for 0.5mSec. A logical "0" is reversed from this.

RADIATION INTERFERENCE: The test procedure used was ANSI STANDARD C63.4-1992 using a HEWLETT PACKARD spectrum analyzer with a pre-selector. The bandwidth of the spectrum analyzer was 100 kHz with an appropriate sweep speed. The analyzer was calibrated in dB above a microvolt at the output of the antenna. The resolution bandwidth was 100KHz and the video bandwidth was 300KHz. The ambient temperature of the UUT was 68.3ΒΊF with a humidity of 40%. FORMULA OF CONVERSION FACTORS: The Field Strength at 3m was established by adding the meter reading of the spectrum analyzer (which is set to read in units of dBuV) to the antenna correction factor supplied by the antenna manufacturer. The antenna correction factors are stated in terms of dB. The gain of the Pre-selector was accounted for in the Spectrum Analyzer Meter Reading. Example: Freq (MHz) METER READING + ACF = FS 33 20 dBuV + 10.36 dB = 30.36 dBuV/m @ 3m ANSI STANDARD C63.4-1992 10.1.7 MEASUREMENT PROCEDURES: The UUT was placed on a table 80 cm high and with dimensions of 1m by 1.5m. The UUT was placed in the center of the table. The table used for radiated measurements is capable of continuous rotation. The spectrum was scanned from 30 MHz to 10th harmonic of the fundamental. Peak readings were taken in three (3) orthogonal planes and the highest readings were converted to average readings based on the duration of "ON" time. When an emission was found, the table was rotated to produce the maximum signal strength. At this point, the antenna was raised and lowered from 1m to 4m. The antenna was placed in both the horizontal and vertical planes. Measurements were made by TIMCO ENGINEERING INC. at the registered open field test site located at 849 N.W. State Road 45, Newberry, Fl 32669.
