WindConnect II User’s Guide (For use with TROY WindConnect II Printer Adapters with Bluetooth ® Technology) Open the Adobe Acrobat Reader navigation pane to use the links for this document. Warranty The TROY printer adapters are warranted to be free of defects in ma terials and workmanship for a period of five years. This pe riod begins upon the date of shipment if the hardware is in stalled by the Purchaser, or upon installation if the Hardware is installed by TROY. During the warranty period, TROY will repair or replace the unit at no charge provided it is returned to TR OY with the freight pre-paid. The warra nty on repaired products or replacement products is 30 days or the last day of the warranty of the original defective product, whichever is lon ger. This warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged by accident, misuse, nat ural catastrophe, modification, improper service, or con ditions resulting from causes external to the product. Both models utilize the same Printed Circuit Board (PCB) but certain components are not populated depending on the model. The two models are WindConnect II USB and WindConnect II Parallel. The basic PCB accommodates circuitry for a 66.00 MHz crystal oscillator, ColdFire Processor, SDRAM and Flash memory, Bluetooth-compliant wireless device with 12.00 MHz crystal and on-board antenna, power supply, two LED’s, a parallel port and USB port with 12.00 MHz crystal. The WindConnect II USB model has all the above mentioned basic circuitry, except the parallel port components are not soldered to the board. These parallel port components include a 100-pin parallel port controller device, a 36-pin Centronics connector, 4 resistor networks, 5 chip resistors and 5 chip capacitors. The WindConnect II Parallel model has all the above mentioned basic circuitry, except the USB port components are not soldered to the board. These USB port components include a 48-pin USB host controller device, a USB jack, power control switch device, 2 diodes, two small inductors, a 12.00 MHz crystal, 10 chip resistors and 14 chip capacitors. For both models, the Bluetooth circuitry remains intact and completely unaltered. Both are encased in plastic enclosures using the same base, top and end panel(s).
