The modular transmitter must have its own shielding. The module fulfils the emission requirements of the FCC rules without additional shielding. 2. The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs The module has a memory management unit inside of the IC. It buffers the data inputs from UART and USB terminal. 3. The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation The IC contains an own voltage regulation. In case of changes in the supply voltage VCC (for example caused by temperature changes or other effects), the internal voltage will be stabilized. 4. The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of Section 15.203 and 15.204c The module is for OEM integration only in the specific host (Wireless Network Platform working as Wireless Access Point) as described in this application. The Wireless Access Point is subject for professional installation. 5. The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration The EUT was tested in a stand-alone configuration. 2006-05-17 Page 2 of 2 6. The modular transmitter must be labelled with its own FCC ID number The EUT will be labelled with its own FCC ID number. The label is specified in Exhibit D. If the module is installed inside of an end-product, the label will not be visible. In this case the OEM integrator will be instructed to how to apply the exterior label. 7. The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements. The EUT is compliant with all applicable FCC rules. Detail instructions are given in the product Users Guide 8. The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure requirements. The maximum measured power output is 28,2 mW (14,5 dBm), the maximum antenna gain is + 8.5 dBi = numeric gain 7,08 (acc to antenna datasheets). The maximum permissible exposure is defined in 47 CFR 1.1310 with 1 mW/cm². The maximum permitted level is calculated using the general equation: S = P*G / 4 πR² P = 28,2 mW, G = 7.08 (numeric gain; + 8.5 dBi = linear power gain relative to the isotropic radiator), R = 20 cm π = 3,1416 Solving for S, the power density at 20 cm is 0,0397 mW/cm². So the 1mW/cm² limit is kept.

The label is too thick, so that the PCB will wobble in the soldering process. Through that a secure solder is not guaranteed. The labels will be located as shown in the figures below. An auxiliary label will be provided for systems using the module where the original label not will be visible when the module is installed. Instructions on how to attach the auxiliary label in compliance with the modular approval guidelines developed by the FCC will be provided. The instructions will call attention to place the auxiliary label on an exterior surface of the device such that it will be visible upon inspection. Bluetooth is a short-range radio link intended to be a cable replacement between portable and/or fixed electronic devices. Bluetooth operates in the unlicensed ISM Band at 2.4 GHz. In the US a band of 83.5 MHz width is available. In this band, 79 RF channels spaced 1MHz apart are defined. The channel is represented by a pseudo-random hopping sequence through the 79 channels. The channel is devided into time slots, with a nominal slot length of 625μs, where each slot corresponds to different RF hop frequencies. The nominal hop rate is 1600 hops/s. All frequencies are equally used. The average time of occupancy is 0.3797 s within a 30 second period. The symbol rate on the channel is 1Ms/s. Regards connectBlue

The antenna requires a ground plane, i.e. your device acts as an active part of the antenna and thus demands careful consideration concerning its placement. Both return loss and efficiency are measured. 2 Test object Two pcbs were sent to use. For this matching we have used the pcb with the most components. Figure 1 and 2 show the pcb. A cable is soldered to the point before the matching network to be used for matching and measurements. The “extra” connector on the backside are used for all measurements. Please find a schematic view of the chamber in figure 6. The pcb is mounted in the middle of the chamber and then the pcb and antenna are rotating in the phi direction and the two measurement probes are sliding in the theta axis. A 1.2 pF in series and a 2.2 nH in shunt on the feed side is used. The efficiency for this pcb+antenna is between 20-30 %.

This makes the antenna ideal for use with products with no metal groundplane. They can even be used with products containing all plastic cases. The 2.5 dB gain antenna also compensates for typical system losses that occur at these frequencies. Connectors available include male TNC or SMA. Right angle connector models are available for side mounting applications. The PSTN & PSWN series uses a flexible PVC cover, and the HSTN series uses flexible Santoprene. The new Knuckle PSKN series allows adjustment between right angle and straight. The quarterwave model PSTG0-2400HS antenna for 2.4 GHz provides enhanced performance with the minimum of size. It uses a hard ABS radome and is colored in black with a textured finish. The antenna is fitted with a male SMA. This antenna's performance is ground plane dependent, for best performance it should be mounted on a metal box or PC board.
