Warnings and Precautions This section contains important information pertaining to the operating instructions of your device. It also contains information about how to use your device safely. Read this information carefully before using the device. Electronic Device Do not use your device if using the device is prohibited. Do not use the device when using the device causes danger or interference with electronic devices. Medical Device Follow rules and regulations set forth by hospitals and health care facilities. Potentially Explosive Atmosphere Do not use your device in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere, and comply with all signs and instructions. Areas that may have potentially explosive atmospheres include the areas where you would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine. Triggering of sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or a fire, resulting in bodily injuries or even deaths. Do not use your device at refueling points such as service stations. Comply with restrictions on the use of radio equipment in fuel depots, storage, and distribution areas, and chemical plants. In addition, adhere to restrictions in areas where blasting operations are in progress. Note: This manual describes t he appearance of the USB Stick, as well as the proced ures for prepa ration, installati on, and re moval. For operation details abo ut t he manage ment program, see the online help incl ude d in the management progr am. Getting to Know Your USB Stick The following figure shows the appearance of the USB Stick. It i s p rovided only for y our reference. The actual pr oduct may be different. USB Connector It c onnec ts t he USB S tic k t o a PC. Strap Hole You can ti e the cap and the USB Stick together by threading a strap through the strap holes, so that the cap will not be easily lost. Indicat or It i ndicates th e stat us of the USB Stick. Green, blinking twice every 3s: The USB Stick is powered on. Green, blinking once every 3s: The USB Stick is registering with a 2G n et work. Blue, blinking once every 3s: T he USB Stick is registering with a 3G/3G+ networ k. Green, s oli d: The U SB S tic k i s c onnecte d to a 2G n etwork. Blue, solid: The USB Stick is connected to a 3G networ k. Cyan, solid: The USB Stick is connected to a 3G+ network. Off: The USB Stick is removed. MicroSD Car d Slot It holds a microSD card. SIM/USIM Car d Slo t It holds a S ubscri be r Identity Module (SI M)/Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM) card. Getting Your USB Stick Ready 1. Slide the front cover t o re move it from t he USB Stick. 2 . Inser t t he S IM/U SIM card and the mic roSD c ard i nto the correspondi ng card slo ts, as shown i n t he following figure. 3 . Replace the f ront cover and slide it into place. Note: The microSD ca rd is a n optional accessory . If it is not provided in the package, you ca n buy one yourself. Ensur e t hat t he b eve led edge of th e S IM/USIM card is properly aligned with t hat of the 1 2 3 2 4 5 SIM/USIM c ard slot and t he microSD c ard i s i nserted according t o the direction a s labeled on t he microSD card slot. Do not re move the microSD or SIM/USIM c ar d when t he card is in use. Othe rwise, the ca rd as well as your USB Stick may get damaged and the data stored on t he ca rd may be corrupted. Installation/Removal Guide The proced ure for installing t he management progra m depends on the operati ng system (OS) inst alled on your PC. The following sections t ake Windows XP as an example. Connec ting the USB Stick to a PC Plug the USB Stick into the USB port of your PC. Installing the USB Stick Management Pr ogram 1. Connect t he USB S tic k wit h t he PC. 2 . The OS automatically detects and recognizes the new ha rd ware and starts t he installation wiza rd . Note: If the auto-run program does not respond, f ind the A utoRun.exe file in the driver path. Then double-click A utoRun.exe to run t he pr ogram. 3 . Follow the on-scree n instructions of the i nstallation wiza rd. 4 . After the progra m is installed, a shortcut icon for the management progra m appears on the desktop. Starting the Management Progr am After being i nstalled, the management progr am starts a utomatically. T hen every t ime the USB S tick is connecte d to t he PC, the man agement program s tarts a utomat ically. You ca n also double-click the shortc ut icon on th e desktop to star t t he man agement pr ogram. Removing the USB Stick 1. Double-click in the notification area. Then t he Unplug or Eject Hardware di alog box appear s. 2 . Select t he c orrespo nding hardware and then clic k Stop. 3 . When t he messag e "It is safe to remove the device" appears, remove the USB Stick. Uninstalling th e Management Pr ogram 1. Choose Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs. 2 .
