Users Manual

1 Thank you for purchasing the Mobile WiFi. This Mobile WiFi brings you a high speed wireless network connection. This document will help you understand your Mobile WiFi so you can start using it right away. Please read this document carefully before using your Mobile WiFi. For detailed information about the functions and configurations of the Mobile WiFi, refer to the online help on the web management page that comes with the Mobile WiFi. For detailed instructions for logging in to the web management page, refer to "Logging In to the Web Management Page" on page 14. 2 Getting to Know Your Mobile WiFi Note: The Mobile WiFi function descriptions and illustrations in this document are for your reference only. The product you have purchased may vary. Application Scenario Wi-Fi devices (such as smartphones, tablet computers, and game consoles) can all access the Internet through Mobile WiFi. The specific connection procedure depends on the operating system of the Wi-Fi device. Note: Data traffic information is for your reference only. For more accurate data traffic information, please consult your service provider. SSID and Wireless Network Encryption Key When a Wi-Fi device establishes a connection to the Mobile WiFi for the first time, you may need to enter the default Service Set Identifier (SSID) and wireless network encryption key. These can be found in the gift box. In addition, press the button twice to view the current SSID and wireless network encryption key on the screen. 7 Getting Started Installing a SIM Card Caution: Use a standard SIM card compatible with the Mobile WiFi, otherwise you will damage your Mobile WiFi. Install the SIM card according to the illustration. Note:  When removing the SIM card, open the tab and gently press the SIM card in, then 8 release. The card will automatically pop out.  Do not remove the SIM card when it is in use. Doing so will affect the performance of your Mobile WiFi and data stored on the SIM card may be lost. Installing the microSD Card Install the microSD card according to the illustration. Note:  The microSD card is an optional accessory. If no microSD card is included in the package, please purchase one separately. 9  When removing the microSD card, open the tab and gently press the microSD card in, then release. The card will automatically pop out.  Do not remove the microSD card when it is in use. Doing so will affect the performance of your Mobile WiFi and data stored on the microSD card may be lost. Charging the Battery Charge your Mobile WiFi the first time you use it or if it has not been used for a long time. Method 1: Use the power adapter to charge the device Note:  Only use chargers compatible with the Mobile WiFi and provided by a designated manufacturer (HW-050200U3W). Use of an incompatible charger or one from an unknown manufacturer may cause the Mobile WiFi to malfunction, fail, or could even cause a fire. Such use 10 voids all warranties, whether expressed or implied, on the product.  The power adapter is an optional accessory. If it has not been included in the package, please contact the local dealer to buy an adapter compatible with the Mobile WiFi. Method 2: Charge the device through a computer connection Use the data cable provided with your device to connect the Mobile WiFi to the computer. 11 Connecting to the Internet via Wi-Fi The Mobile WiFi's management parameters have been preset according to your operator's requirements. You can quickly connect to the Internet by following these steps: Step 1: Turn on the Mobile WiFi Press and hold the button until the screen lights up, indicating that the Mobile WiFi is turned on. Note: Press and hold the button to turn off the Mobile WiFi. Step 2. Establish a Wi-Fi connection (using a computer running the Windows XP operating system as an example) 1. Ensure that the Mobile WiFi's Wi-Fi function is on. 2. Select Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > Wireless Network Connection. 12 Note: Before establishing a Wi-Fi connection, ensure that the computer is equipped with a wireless network adapter. If the computer indicates a wireless network connection, the wireless network adapter can be used. Otherwise, verify that your wireless network adapter is working properly. 3. Click to view a list of available wireless networks. 4. Select the wireless network connection with the Mobile WiFi's SSID and click Connect. Note:  If the wireless network connection is encrypted, enter the correct wireless network encryption key.  Press twice to view the current SSID and wireless network encryption key on the screen. 5. Wait a moment for the wireless network connection icon to appear in the system tray in the lower right corner of the computer screen. The wireless network connection is then established. 13 Step 3: Connect to the Internet After successfully establishing a Wi-Fi connection, you can connect to the Internet using the following methods. Note: Select an appropriate Internet connection mode according to your billing method. Warnings and Precautions This section contains important information pertaining to the operating instructions of your device. It also contains information about how to use your device safely. Read this information carefully before using the device. Electronic Device Do not use your device if using the device is prohibited. Do not use the device when using the device causes danger or interference with electronic devices. Medical Device  Follow rules and regulations set forth by hospitals and health care f acilities. Do not use your device when using the device is prohibited.  Some wireless devices may affect the performance of hearing aids or pacemakers. For any such problems, consult your service provider.  If you are using an electronic medical device, consult the doctor or the device manufacturer to confirm whether radio waves affect the operation of this device. Potentially Explosive Atmosphere Do not use your device in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere, and comply with all signs and instructions. Areas that may have potentially explosive atmospheres include the areas where you would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine. Triggering of sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or a fire, resulting in bodily injuries or even deaths. Do not use your device at refueling points such as service stations. Comply with restrictions on the use of radio equipment in fuel depots, storage, and distribution areas, and chemical plants. In addition, adhere to restrictions in areas where blasting operations are in progress. Before using the device, watch out for areas that have potentially explosive atmospheres that are often, but not always, clearly marked. Such locations include areas below the deck on boats, chemical transfer or storage facilities, and areas where the air contains chemicals or particles such as grain, dust, or metal powders. Ask the manufacturers of vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane) whether this device can be safely used in their vicinity. Traffic Security  Observe local laws and regulations while using the device. To prevent accidents, do not use your wireless device while driving.  RF signals may affect electronic systems of motor vehicles. For more information, consult the vehicle manufacturer.  In a motor vehicle, do not place the device over the air bag or in the air bag deployment area. Otherwise, the device may hurt you owing to the strong force when the air bag inflates.  Do not use your device while flying in an aircraft and before boarding an aircraft. Using wireless devices in an aircraft may cause danger to the operation of the aircraft and disrupt the wireless telephone network. It may also be considered illegal. Operating Environment  Do not use or charge the device in dusty, damp, and dirty places or places with magnetic fields. Otherwise, it may result in a malfunction of the circuit.  While using the device, observe the local laws and regulations, and respect others' privacy and legal rights.  Place the device or accessories in well-ventilated, cool, and out-of-direct-sunlight place. Avoid enveloping the device, or covering towels and placing articles on the device. Place the device out of a box or case to avoid poor heat dissipation that results in the damage to the device.  On a stormy day with thunder, do not use your device, to prevent any danger caused by lightning.  Keep the ambient temperature between 0°C to +35°C for using the device.
