Battery power level Installing UIM Card (Optional) Consult the network operator whether a UIM card is needed. Make sure that the golden area on the UIM card is facing downwards and the cut-off edge is correctly fit to that of the card holder. 4 Installing Battery Before installing battery, make sure the FWT is off. When installing battery, make sure that the battery cord plug matches the battery jack. Do not insert reversely. Using Power Adapter and Charging Battery 1. Insert the battery and connect the FWT to the power adapter. 2. Connect the power adapter to an AC power socket. 3. When the charging icon becomes static, the FWT is fully charged. 4. When the FWT is fully charged, disconnect the power adapter from the AC power socket first. Then disconnect the FWT from the power adapter. 5 Menu Tree Messages Contacts Call Records 1. Access the submenu in either of the ways: z Press or to scroll to a submenu item and press (OK) to access it. z Press the number key corresponding to the number of a submenu to access it. 5. Press (Back) to return to the previous menu or return to the home screen. 6. Press to return to the standby mode. 6 Making a Call 1. In standby mode, enter a phone number. 2. Press to dial the number. 3. Press to end the call. Note y When a UIM card is used and the UIM card is locked, enter the lock code to unlock the UIM card first; otherwise, you can only make emergency calls or answer calls. y In standby mode, press to view the dialed calls. Select a record and press to dial this number. y Select a contact from Contacts and press to call this contact. Answering a Call When there is an incoming call, you can press and (Answer) to answer it, or press to reject it. If the any-key answer function is enabled, you can press any key except and to answer an incoming call. PIN and PUK The personal identity number (PIN) protects your UIM card from unauthorized use. The PIN unblocking key (PUK) can unblock the blocked PIN. Both the PIN and PUK are delivered with the UIM card. For details, consult your service provider. If you enter wrong PINs three times consecutively, the FWT asks you to enter the PUK code. If you enter wrong PUKs ten times, the UIM card is invalidated permanently. Contact your service provider for a new card. Locking the Keypad In standby mode, press and hold to lock the keypad. HUAWEI ETS2222+ Electromagnetic Radiation Exposure Estimation 1 EMF Exposure Estimation for ETS2222+ 1 Introduction HUAWEI ETS2222+ is Wireless Fixed Terminal equipment in the CDMA system, The frequency band is US Cellular. The Fixed Wireless Terminal implements such functions as RF signal receiving / Transmitting, CDMA protocol processing, voice and SMS service etc. The Fixed Wireless Terminal uses MSM6000 chipset and Zero-IF technologies. 2 Limits and Guidelines on Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields According to the FCC Part 2.1091, we know: mobile device (transmitting device designed to be used in other than fixed locations and to generally be used in such a way that a separation distance of at least 20 centimeters is normally maintained between the transmitters radiating structure(s) and the body of the user or nearby persons). And the Cellular radiotelephone service and PCS services are subject to routine environmental evaluation for RF exposure prior to equipment authorization or use if they operate at frequencies of 1.5 GHz or below and their effective radiated power (ERP) is 1.5 watts or more, or if they operate at frequencies above 1.5 GHz and their ERP is 3 watts or more. The radiated power of 800MHz for ETS2222+ is 1W, so it needs to be subjected to routine the environmental evaluation for RF exposure. Uncontrolled limits are used for general public. General population/uncontrolled exposure apply in situations in which the general public may be exposed, or in which persons that are exposed as a consequence of their employment may not be fully aware of the potential for exposure or can not exercise control over their exposure. The exposure levels can be expressed in terms of power density, electric field strength, or magnetic field strength, as averaged over 30 minutes for the general public and 6 minutes for trained personnel. The exposure criterion is frequency dependent, and a chart covering the range from 3 kHz to 100 GHz can be found in NCRP No.86 (references IEEE C95.1-1999). Below are the limits. The basic restrictions on exposure to electromagnetic fields are based directly on established health effects and biological considerations. We can get the max ERP in channel 777 from the RF report, the ERP is 24.56dBm, which is less than 30dBm, so in this report we calculate use the 30dBm as the worst case. 3 Location of EUT The EUT uses one monopole antenna. The source of the radiation is mounted on terminal; generally the direction of the antenna position is uprightness tabletop. The highest level of HUAWEI ETS2222+ Electromagnetic Radiation Exposure Estimation 3 emission would be expected in close vicinity of the antenna and in line of sight to the antenna. 4 Prediction of the Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields Calculations can be made on a site by site basis to ensure the power density is below the limits given above, or guidelines can be done beforehand to ensure the minimum distances from the antenna is maintained through the site planning. The calculations are based on FCC OET 65 Appendix B. 4.1 Calculation of the Safe Distance Below method describes a theoretical approach to calculate possible exposure to electromagnetic radiation around a base station transceiver antenna. Precise statements are basically only possible either with measurements or complex calculations considering the complexity of the environment (e.g. soil conditions, near buildings and other obstacles) which causes reflections, scattering of electromagnetic fields. The maximum output power (given in EIRP) of a base station is usually limited by license conditions of the network operator. A rough estimation of the expected exposure in power flux density on a given point can be made with the following equation. Thus the calculated compliance boundary should be rather more conservative and on the safe side.
