1 Personal Information and Data Security The use of some functions or third-party applications on your device could result in your personal information and data being lost or becoming accessible to others. Several measures are recommended to help you protect personal and confidential information. • Place your device in a safe area to prevent it from unauthorized use. • Set your device screen to lock and create a password or unlock pattern to open it. • Periodically back up personal information kept on your memory card or stored in your device memory. If you change to a different device, be sure to move or delete any personal information on your old device. • If you are worried about viruses when you receive messages or emails from a stranger, you can delete them without opening them. • If you use your device to browse the Internet, avoid websites that might pose a security risk to avoid theft of your personal information. • If you use services such as Wi-Fi tether or Bluetooth, set passwords for these services to prevent unauthorized access. When these services are not in use, turn them off. • Install or upgrade device security software and regularly scan for viruses. • Be sure to obtain third-party applications from a legitimate source. Downloaded third-party applications should be scanned for viruses. • Install security software or patches released by Huawei or third-party application providers. • Some applications require and transmit location information. As a result, a third-party may be able to share your location information. • Your device may provide detection and diagnostic information to third- party application providers. To find the detailed user guide, do as follows: 1. Connect your device to your computer with the USB cable. 2. Choose Start > My Computer. Double-click Mobile Partner and document. To adjust the volume of ringer, audio playing and other sound effects, press the keys on the side of the phone. • To enable Camera, press and hold the key. • To taka a photo, press and hold the key. 4 • To return the home screen, tap the button. • To view apps you’ve recently used, touch and hold the button. 6 To open the option menu for the current screen, tap the button. 0 To return the previous screen, tap the button. : • To open the search apps, tap the button. • To open Voice Search, touch and hold the button. 4 Get started Inserting USIM card 1. Turn off the phone, then remove the back cover by lifting it from the bottom end of the device. 2. If the battery is inserted, lift the battery in the direction of the arrow to remove it. 3. Insert the USIM card. Ensure the contact area on the card is facing down . 4. Align the contacts of the battery with the corresponding connectors on the battery compartment, and insert in the direction of the arrow. 5. Replace the back cover. Inserting microSD card 1. Turn off the phone, then remove the back cover by lifting it from the bottom end of the device. 2. Insert the microSD card. Ensure the contact area on the card is facing down. 1 3 5 4 2 5 3. Replace the back cover. Charging the Battery To charge the battery: Connect the phone to a power outlet using the compatible USB cable and AC adapter. If your mobile phone is charged when it is powered on, the battery icon on the Notification bar shows the charging status. When the battery icon changes to , it indicates that your mobile phone is fully charged. 1 34 2 1 2 6 Use Touch Panel Tap To open an app or other element on the touch screen, tap it with your finger. Touch & hold To open special options, touch and hold the desired item over two seconds. Swipe To swipe, slide your finger quickly left or right on the touch screen. Flick To scroll quickly, place your finger on the touch screen, slider it quickly across the screen, then quickly lift your finger. Zoom In or Out To zoom in or out as desired while viewing photos, web pages or maps, pinch your finger together or apart. 7 Home Screen Viewing Other Parts of the Home Screen Locking the Screen • When your phone is on, press to lock the screen.
