Safety Precautions 1516 Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) 17 Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves recommended by international guidelines. These guidelines were developed by the independent scientific organisation ICNIRP and include safety margins designed to assure the protection of all persons, regardless of age and health. 18 The guidelines use a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit for mobile devices is 2 W/kg and the highest SAR value for this device when tested at the ear was 1.04 W/kg*. As mobile devices offer a range of functions, they can be used in other positions, such as on the body as described in this user guide**. 19 As SAR is measured utilising the device's highest transmitting power, the actual SAR of this device while operating is typically below that indicated above. This is due to automatic changes to the power level of the device to ensure it only uses the minimum power required to communicate with the network. 20 * The tests are carried out in accordance with IEC standard PT62209-1. 21 ** Please see page 66 about body worn operation. 22 Please read the safety precautions carefully to ensure the correct and safe use of your wireless device. For detailed information, refer to the 23 section “Warnings and Precautions”. 2425 Switch off in explosive environments.Only use approved accessories. . 1 1 Table of Contents Table of Contents 1Getting to Know Your Phone 1 Packing List ................................................1Your Phone ................................................2 Getting Started 6 Loading the Battery ....................................6Unloading the Battery .................................6Charging the Battery ..................................7Loading/Removing the SIM Card ...............8Loading/Removing a Memory Card............9Powering On/Off .........................................9 Call Service 11 Making or Answering Calls .......................11Operations During a Voice Call ...............12 Operations During a Video Call ...............13 Text Input 15 T9 Input Method .......................................15Traditional Input Method ..........................16"123" Numeric Input Method ....................16Symbol Input Method ...............................16Input Different Languages ........................17 Contacts 18 Making Calls from the Contacts ...............18Searching for a Contact............................18Other Operations ......................................19Groups......................................................19 Call Log 21 Making Calls from Call Log ...................... 21Other Operations ..................................... 21 Messaging 22 Text Messages......................................... 22Multimedia Messages .............................. 25Creating Live!Postcards ........................... 29Email ........................................................ 29Push Inbox ............................................... 34Broadcast Inbox ....................................... 34Voice Mail number ................................... 35Common Phrases .................................... 35 Music 36 My Music .................................................. 36Playlist...................................................... 37 Organiser & Tools 38 SIM ToolKit .............................................. 38Alarms ...................................................... 38Calendar .................................................. 38Task ......................................................... 39Memo ...................................................... 40Synchronise ............................................. 40Calculator ................................................. 41Unit Converter .......................................... 41Currency Converter.................................. 42Voice Recorder ........................................ 42Wor…
