EL-2640 The EL-2640 is a wireless keypad designed for use with the infiniti control panel. This keypad includes three arming keys that activate Full, Part or Perimeter arming modes. Pressing the Full and Perimeter buttons simultaneously generates an SOS panic alarm. Additionally, two Home Automation keys allow remote control over Home Automation modules. Registration To register the EL-2640: 1. Set the control panel to Registration mode. 2. Press a button on the keypad making sure that the LED lights up when the button is pressed. 3. Wait for five seconds and press the same button again. Battery Replacement Every time a key is pressed, the battery status LED is lit. When the battery needs to be replaced, the LED flashes. To replace the battery: 1. Remove the battery cover located at the rear of the unit. To do so, press the release tab using a small screwdriver and lift the cover away from the EL-2640’s plastic housing. 2. Observing correct polarity, replace the 9V alkaline battery. 3. Replace the battery cover making sure that it clicks shut. Wall Mounting To mount the EL-2640 to the wall: 1. Place the mounting bracket in position against the wall and mark the two mounting holes. 2. Install wall anchors in the appropriate positions and mount the bracket to the wall. 3. Place the EL-2640 in the bracket and slide it down until you hear a click. 4. To release the EL-2640, press the release tab in the direction of the wall and remove the unit. American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 March 9, 2004 RE: Electronics Line 3000 Ltd. FCC ID: RIYEL2640 I have a few comments on the above referenced Application. EMC Report 1) The device appears to contain a daughter board. Please provide additional photographs of both sides of the daughter board and also the area underneath the daughter board located on the main board. 2) The operational description provided is simply a TX attestation. Please provide an exhibit for the operational description. 3) It is uncertain how this device transmits. Does it transmit for each key pressed (for example when each number is pressed)? Note that for each key pressed, this is actually considered sending data. Please explain what types of control signals are being sent to meet the expected requirements of 15.231(a). Note that it appears that maybe a control signal is not necessary to be sent with each button press. Please explain. Note that it may be best to place this device under 15.231(e) as it does appear to meet these limits. Please review. 4) Please provide information to show/support compliance to 15.231(a)(1), ie .- test data. Please note that historically the FCC always request test data to show the device shuts off properly, regardless of an attestation. Timothy R. Johnson Examining Engineer mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 March 23, 2004 RE: Electronics Line 3000 Ltd. FCC ID: RIYEL2640 I have a few comments on the above referenced Application. EMC Report 1) It appears that the devices intent may be to only send data (keys entered) to a receiver. Note that devices intended strictly for data transmission only must be approved under 15.231(e). Note that device does appear to meet the limits of 15.231(e) as given in the test report. Approval to 15.231(a)(1) or 15.231(a)(2) may only be done if the RF packet includes control signals (see next page for a description from recent FCC Report and Order). It is uncertain what is contained in the RF interface transmission for this device. For instance, does it transmit a packet with data only for the entered code, or send data each time a key is pressed or wait and send data with a control signal (arm/disarm), etc. Note that a control code must be sent with every transmission for use under 15.231(a)(1) or 15.231(a)(2). If data only is sent for certain types of transmissions, then compliance must be shown under 15.231(e). Please confirm if the device is being approved under 15.231(e) or alternatively, please explain what types of control signals are being sent to meet the expected requirements of 15.231(a). A theory of operation describing the information contained in each type of packet may be necessary to adequately show compliance to 15.231(a). 2) We have not received the plots referenced to show/support compliance to 15.231(a)(1). This information should support the information in #3 below. Please provide. Timothy R.
