Non-contractual document. www.elainnovation.com Copyright © 2018 ELA Innovation - FP Blue PUCK EN Product commissioning Remove the product from its packaging. Check the integrity of the IP69k enclosure (manual page 1). The product is powered by a non-replaceable 3.6 VDC internal battery (manual page 1). There is no physical switch: activation and configuration depend on NFC programming. Sensor mounting The device must be mounted directly on a flat surface or using the PUCK HOLDER STICKER accessory. Ensure that the mounting surface does not degrade radio performance. Initial configuration via NFC Install the ELA Device Manager software from www.elainnovation.com (manual page 1). Place an NFC-compatible smartphone or NFC programmer near the central area of the device. Open ELA Device Manager. Read the device via NFC. Adjust the following parameters if needed: • transmission period (0.1 s to 10 s) • transmission power (up to +4 dBm) (all values taken from manual page 1) Validate the NFC write operation and verify that the parameters have been updated correctly. Normal operation The product periodically transmits its Bluetooth frames in “Periodic data transmission mode” (page 1). The LED indicator shows the transmission active/inactive status (manual page 1). The maximum open-field range can reach up to 500 m depending on the radio settings used. Maintenance When the battery reaches 15% remaining capacity, an internal warning is triggered (page 1). The battery is not replaceable: when it reaches end of life, replace the entire device. The IP69k enclosure must not be opened. Specifications could be modified without any notification. Non-contractual document. www.elainnovation.com Copyright © 2018 ELA Innovation - FP Blue PUCK EN FCC Statement This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1. This device may not cause harmful interference; and 2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. § 15.21 Information to user The user manual or instruction manual for an intentional or unintentional radiator shall caution the user that changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. NOTE: THE GRANTEE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CHANGES OR MODIFICATIONS NOT EXPRESSLY APPROVED BY THE PARTY RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLIANCE. SUCH MODIFICATIONS COULD VOID THE USER’S AUTHORITY TO OPERATE THE EQUIPMENT. RF exposure test exclusion This equipment complies with FCC RF exposure limits for uncontrolled environments. Non-contractual document. www.ela.fr Copyright © 2020 ELA Innovation 3/7 2 INTRODUCTION CONTEXT This report presents the radiation pattern characterization of the PIFA antenna integrated on our PCB-based PUCK product. The objective of this document is to present the radiation performance of the antenna at the three operating frequencies of interest. The following sections provide a summary table of the main results obtained at each frequency, as well as the 3D and 2D radiation patterns. Frequency Range (MHz) 2401 - 2481 Feed Point Impedance 50 ohms VSWR < 2:1 Polarization Type Linear Elevation Beamwidth Omni directional Peak Gain (dBi)@2404MHz 5,57 Peak Gain (dBi)@2440MHz 5,34 Peak Gain (dBi)@2478MHz 1,37 3 DESIGN ANTENNE CONTEXT The antenna performance was evaluated using a controlled measurement setup by the COREIOT laboratory. The tests were conducted with the antenna integrated into the enclosure. This setup ensures that the radiation patterns accurately reflect the in-situ behavior of the antenna under real operating conditions. • Device is placed in YZ plane. • Antenna is at +Y. Non-contractual document. www.ela.fr Copyright © 2020 ELA Innovation 7/7 The low, mid, and high frequency bands exhibit TRP values of 1.12 dB, 0.89 dB, and –3 dB, respectively, indicating that the low band radiates approximately 4.12 dB more power than the high band. This significant drop in TRP at higher frequencies is likely linked to poorer antenna matching in the upper band compared to the lower frequencies.
